Anti-Magmortar deck - T2 Seaking

Yes, IF Magmortar has a unsearchable (except for Darkrai #3) Special Energy attached. Also, Seaking can one-shot Typhlosion, so it only makes me attach ONE extra Energy.

you can't depend on weakness to kill mag and with such low hp you have no chance of winning against it, you'll barely get past their starter

plus, most other decks can beat this, gallade, feraligatr, bannette, blissey, and i remember testing it back a couple sets so i know mario beats it lol

what mag player you played didn't just attack with pachis until they were in a position to beat you

Magmortar and Blissey are the two most popular cards at my league, only one person plays Gardylade, and that's me. So, really, Beach kills Blissey and Lake Boundary kills Magmortar. Also, I can be relying on Weakness... because not all Mag decks play Holon FF, as Water is not a very popular type, because Empo is, really, the only *good* Water type, with the possible exceptions of Swampert and Wailord. And if they did, it would only be played as a tech, decreasing their chances of top-decking it. Also, there's a chance that Holon FF will be Prized. Low HP isn't to bad when you one-shot Magmortar. Another thing I'm thinking about is adding some kind of Basic Water Sniper as a tech, to help even more against Magmoirtar, Dugtrio CG to protect my Bench, and some Buffers. Thoughts?

BoDragon, then you would have to wait until Gyrados is damaged to attack, which I don't really want to be doing.

Gyarados can attack without being damaged. Play Lake Boundary. This turns Magmortar's Water weakness into x2. Add Strength Charm and/or Plus Power to enhance Gyarados' attack. Use Dragon DNA to attack with Flail for 30 base damage, add the effect of Strength Charm and Plus Power, then apply Weakness with Lake Boundary. In one or two turns Magmortar can be knocked out.

If you use Enrage, get tails, and become Confused, you want to get out of that situation quickly. Hope you have Switch or Warp Point to get out of that situation. A three Energy retreat cost is costly.

Dragon DNA can't add 30 to an attack that isn't doing any damage. So Gyrados with 0 on it can't use Flail for 30.

Poké-Body: Dragon DNA - Gyarados can use any attack from its Basic Pokemon. (You still have to pay for that attack's Energy cost.) If Gyarados uses any attack from its Basic Pokemon, that attack does 30 more damage to the Active Pokemon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

Yes, it can. You can attack with Flail with 0 damage counters on Gyarados and add 30 damage for the effect of Dragon DNA.

yeah are we serious here?

anyway t2 huntail is better than this so if you want to play a weak deck just because it's water type play that it would only take some simple revisions and it consistantly attacks for 50

Arceus999 brings an interesting subject to the field of pokemon. Water right now has a very strong match up to decks now because electric is not played much (except for Pachi) its only weakness is Pokemon who are resistant to water and that can Heal. Even with an electric weakness you can just play Glacia's STadium and get rid of weakness fo water. The reason why im giving water alot of credit is because Water pokemon are one of the most Versital types especially now. So Arceus999 try it out and see what results you get. The only thing i would sudjest to the deck is look over your trainers and think about situations. And find room for at least 1 Glacia's stadium or two cause it helps get rid of weakness.

Glacia's Stadium and Island Hermit? Okay. I'll try that. Yeah, I'm going to try this deck out once I get it together, so maybe next week I'll be able to test it against really good players that run Mag and Bliss, or against some younger players who run Banlade.

A consistant list can always get a FF in 5+ turns with Catty/TVR/ Steven etc. Dont try to win that arguement. Then Mag X has 130 HP, you do 50 and I heal 20 and KO, you cant win. I think this matchup is 90-10 Magmortars favor so Anti'Mag isn't that good. Also GG and Blissey will rip you to shreds.

That's nice, the only thing I think you're missing is that Fire TRUK gets set up T3-4, while this deck gets set up T2. 100 T2 without any PP/SC is great. Once again, why would Fire TRUK include 4 Holon FF? I think only 1 or 2. And if you do get it with all your Draw Trainers, you're going to deck out soon, especially with Delcatty. Do you want to stop from getting decked out by sending up a Delcatty ex? Fine, I thank you for the two Prizes, because even if I can't one-shot it, I can certainly do enough damage. While your Pachi is getting your Basics for you, and your setting up a Catty, I'm dealing 50+ damage to your Pachi. Cessation Crystals I'll use as well, so that you can't Fire Starter or Energy Draw or heal yourself by 20 or Burn me with Mag X. So really, your whole "you do 50 and I heal by 20" thing goes bye-bye. Oh, you can say Pachi one-shots me with Cesstion on all you like, but then I get a Prize for your Pachi. Mafmortar gets two-shoted even if he has Holon FF attached when I have Cessation on, with a PP/SC. Same thing with Typhlo, just I don't need Cessation, it just stops his Fire Starters. Also, where do you expect to get all that Energy in your hand when you have less then 20? Seriously, I really don't think it's 90-10 in Magmortar's favour.

EDIT: I edited my list to have 3 Cessation Crystals!

I juust waste Pachis until I get seup and then I 1 hko everything with magmortar. if you ever played with mag you will see how consistant and fast it is.

Yes, you just give me free Prizes, while I am Beaching you, so no Scrambles, then when you bring up Magmortar after I have taken at the most 4 Prizes, and you have like 6 Energies on you. You KO me, then I bring up my next Seaking and KO you. Now I only need one more Prize to win the game.

Or, if you only sent up two Pachis, Mag won't do enough damage to KO me, so then I KO you.

Yeah... how many Windstorms? Really, I'm running 3 Beach, so will Windstorm make much of a difference when I just put down another Beach? Also, I don't think every Fire TRUK list runs Windstorm.

your very wrong arceus it will never work like that

he'd even have firestarted enough energy to one hit you, you don't do 100 t2 to a pachirisu, you take one or two prizes but your beach will get discarded and you will not keep up even 100 per turn isn't enough when they one shot you and you can't build another one fast enough

mag would never lose to this with or without ff unless the player was really bad and played a bad list, mag decks will have ffs if they plan on winning,

Cessation stops Firestarter. Cessation goes on Seaking. No Firestarter.

And they aren't going to get the ideal Pachi start every game. If they have a Mamar or Cyndaquil start you are going to be doing 100.

It's just a fun deck. I'm not entering a tournament with it. I don't think it will win tournaments, but I do think it can stand a very good chance against Magmortar. At least, for a rogue deck.

First of all i believe in statistics just like anyone else does. But one should remember that just because you have good odds doesnt mean your going to win.
Second of all it all depends on who goes first, the 7 cards you draw in the begining, whats in your deck and prizes, and who has what.
Third of all i have this to say: Winnings winning it dont matter how or who it is.Its all the same!
