Beckett to cease production of magazine

so they kill of all their competition that`s not cool its called being a monopoly.
Pokemon is a specific Trademark and Copyright, owned by Nintendo. As developers of the brand, Nintendo has full rights on who does what Pokemon-wise. As Beckett had nothing to do with the creation of the Pokemon empire, and Beckett is free to pursue their own TCG/Video Game/Toy empire, no monopoly exists.

Any corporation would do the same thing. Beckett and others are lucky they had the opportunity to make a buck off it for as long as they did. If I were to create something through hard work and fiscal assets, I'd be damned if I let anyone else turn profits off it and so would you and anyone else in their right mind. The unauthorized use of the Trademarked name 'Pokemon' as the title of the magazine would, in court, be enough to make Beckett pay Nintendo most, if not all of the proceeds they have garnered from the Magazine since it was first produced 11 years ago. They got off extremely light.

You really need to check your definitions and make sure you know what they mean before you start libeling a business who is moving to protect their interests and investments.

Now, Texas Instruments, that's a monopoly. They can charge $80 for a calculator required for school courses, and it doesn't even do fractions.

I honestly think beckett helped pokemon, for one thing it was the best damn thing anyone can get for $5 and have a huge poke rush.
Not to mention it was full of info that some may not even known existed and they (the customers) were first introduced thanks to beckett.

But with beckett gone how does their graded cards get effected?

I was going to say something similar. It put a Pokemon presence in book stores.

OK so they are getting rid of Beckett Pokemon magazine.

I personally never really bothered reading that anyways...

BTW the so-called "Official" Pokemon Magazine is still no where to be found.

I saw 1 issue at a local Barnes & Noble, was going to buy it but of course somebody took the booster...

It has been at least 5-6 months since then, and no new issue has hit the stands.

Heck I never even saw it in the "big" stores (Like Target/Walmart) yet Beckett usually is caried at those places.

...took them long enough?

Personally I really don't care, I stopped checking out Beckett around 2000 or so because their articles are a waste for the most part. Their pricing is also largely a waste as well.

If you can find an Arceus gift box, there's a copy in there as well.

Beckett really should have consolidated their TCG magazines a while ago, if you ask me.

I don't think this is a sign of Pokemon losing steam, but rather just the fact that everything that is put into magazines is already available online, except free, and 100x in volume.

What r u talking about?
You can change any decimal into fractions and I'm sure there's a setting where you can make it automatically spit out the answer as a fraction.

And they aren't a monopoly, the Casio is one of its competitors as far as graphing calculators go I think.

I think that Kraai was talking about the "Official Pokemon Magazine" from Nintendo.

There was a single issue put out, which like I said was almost impossible to find.

The Barnes & Noble I go to only had 1 copy (and it was missing the booster), I asked if they had any more, and the person said no. I looked at several other places that carry large ammounts of magazines (Target, Walmart, other Barnes & Noble, and Borders) but NONE of them had any copies of it.

So I would guess that since it was rather hard to find, not that many people bought it. So maybe they did not make any more?

They were quite easy to find back when they were released here in Canada.
They were actually selling out rather fast when I asked about them at a few stores.

Maybe I was just lucky?
