Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Black and White Discussion

>> some of them look like existing pokemon, such as the the tadpole line, the beaver line, and the grass starter.

>> some of them I like the cute ones are nice, Zora and its Evo is A+.

>> Gear = weird

>> the moth bat pokemon = dust bunny + wings

>> ice cream pokemon?

>> 3 genie pokemon that look the same except the color?

>> black + white ledgendaries = win

Anyone else notice the ant and anteater legendaries? I like that they're expanding on more animals.

just saw them..... O.O

most of these don't look like pokemon at all, they look more like digimon!
some are just plain weird! example: 648, 558, 559, 560
553 doesn't look much different from 552
and i don;t really see a difference between chillarmy and its evolution except for the white stuff.
all in all i'm quite impressed by some especially zekrom and reshiram but i don't really like some (mostly in the middle area)

IMO, Looking at all these new Pokemon I really wish they had just created a new continent/storyline, added all the new game features, and had only added a few Pokemon mixed in with previous Pokemon. Quality Pokemon are much better than Quantity. Just the whole fact that none of these Pokemon connect with the older generations makes it harder for me to even think of this new game as Pokemon. For once I'm actually not interested in buying the new generation game. I'm just going to tell myself Generation 5 takes place on a different planet in the Pokemon universe.

Now then, I can't say I dislike all the new Pokemon. The only ones I like at the moment are Gigaiasu and Doreida,
I really DON'T like any of the other Pokemon...
=/ Genosekuto Looks like a car transformer with a laser beam attached to it. Something I would of drawn when I was 8 or so.

The "Arceus wannabes" are actually a quad. Look further down the list. You'll see the 4th one Kerudio. It's water/fighting

Is it confirmed to be a quad? I thought 647 was a unique giveaway. It doesn't really look like the other 3...

They'll grow on you, I promise you that.
power ranger, ice cream cone, transformers, and derp fighting dog pokemon trio will never grow on me, I promise you that. For the most part after that, a lot of things are subpar. Like the hyrda pokemon is a bit awkward with having heads for hands, the fighting duo is a bit ugly, Goruggo is totally Shakkoumon, pokabu's stage 2 seems like there's a missing mexican masked wrestler somewhere, Maggyo looks like someone stepped on the pokemon before it went to print, the polar bear stage 1 is just awkward all around, Gear's evolution is the most unoriginal evolution line to date, Mamanboo and buffalon's lack of connections to luvdisc and tauros will forever haunt the pokemon world (barring some weird egg thing), Shubarugo has too busy of a design, the coffin pokemon seems very out of place, should've just been an Egyptian looking ghost, I really don't know what's going on with the dark fighter line, Marakachi is super random, Doredia feels like a rehashed bellosom, don't really get the fighting "guy with a stick" line, the stage 1 mole pokemon's drill on top of his head feels forced on the design, the "pidgey" line begins off with a bird pokemon that looks way too close to the real thing, the evolutions aren't spectacular, the water starter stage 2 why does it exist, Genosekto looks like a transformer, Meroetta looks more like a person in a cartoon with that style of artwork, not very pokemon looking, and why does the genie line have the laziest difference in design ever? Seriously tiny little details and different colors does not a different pokemon make, they could've at least given them different poses.

/end gen V hate rant

Just seeing blown up pics of sprites is probably not the best way to judge the look of the Pokemon.

I'm sure they will look better on official art and the cards.

It's all a matter of opinion anyway. I love the ice cream Pokemon . . . imagine the deck names!

A lot of my complaints have little to do with any detail that wouldn't have to drastically change from sprite to card artwork.

"don't really get the fighting "guy with a stick" line"
"the stage 1 mole pokemon's drill on top of his head feels forced on the design,"
"Mamanboo and buffalon's lack of connections to luvdisc and tauros will forever haunt the pokemon world (barring some weird egg thing),"
"pokabu's stage 2 seems like there's a missing mexican masked wrestler somewhere"

I wasn't addressing your complaints specifically, just making an observation about how we (in general) aren't seeing the new Pokemon at their best.

In any case, your feelings aren't open to debate. I understand that you 'don't get' the fighting guy and that the drill on the mole Pokemon 'feels forced' to you. I don't share those views based on what I've seen, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Oh my goodness, it's the "My Little Pony" Pokemon.

Is GameFreak making fun of My Little Pony?
