Very cool! I love to read stories about kids (or adults!) who rise above health problems to do great things. Keep it up, kiddo!

Ten medals in just one year. I would sure love to battle him because it would be one heck of a fight:thumb: I hope he does well at SPTs

Congrats to the kid. He deserved it and its a real accomplishment. Not only to play and win but to not let the pressure of reaching the top tables reach him and playing through it.

Stop discrediting it or making it seem anything less than what it is. He may not be the "best" in the world but his rating is really all that matters. Hes the best Junior in the world and he deserves every bit of credit. If he played the majority of people here i'm sure hed have atleast a 75%+ win percentage. Good job!

That takes alot of wins to rack up that kind of GOLD!

He can walk around and "PITY THE FOOLS" that doubt his accomplishments.... (Sorry Mr. T ref there)

Kudos to the BIG CHEESE from Wisconsin! Brett Favre who?

Regardless of whether he really is the best in the world - it still takes a tremendous player to be ranked No.1 in the world. 10 City Wins? Wow.

I read this article to my 6 year old and he was very impressed. It was actually inspirational. My son is really shy, too. In his first Pokemon tourney he would barely speak. Now he chats it up with the other players (who are ALL very friendly, by the way).

Us older folks could learn a LOT from the Juniors. I'm just sayin.

And the debate about whether he's #1 in the world is ridiculous. Who cares? He's obviously got skills, he has fun and it's improved his social behaviors. Oh.... and last time I looked it was still just a game.

Have a little perspective, people.

The arguments in this thread are but a testament to his success. Props to him, and to the Juniors. The Juniors worlds deck last year IMO was the most innovative and impressive deck there. Masters was won by... oh GG.

good job

i have a son in the top 20 and he would love to see a player like this not only to get pointers from but just to meet. 10 medals is awesome my son got three and we were in ahhh. keep it going little man. and for all you out there that are dogging him my money is on the jr beating you as well.

Congrats to the young lad!

But I do agree calling him the best in the world is a little off. I'm not having a go at you but the top- ranked Junior IMHO is great. But too many wee ones playing me brother's deck or playing a random card deck for that braggadacio. Best in world builds his own deck and doesn't play against random card decks.

Cheers

Actually....my son is VERY PROUD that that was HIS own deck that he made himself. And he just wont 1st place at Minnesota states with his 2nd own deck that he put together himself of the new cards. He actually said today he feels great about being able to make his own deck and do well with it.

Thank you to everyone who has congratulated him. As for the negative posters or should I say posers. You are the exact reason that I...Josh's mother did not post a link for this article. Josh has actually been in our papers 6 times for his Pokemon accomplishments. We are very proud of him and I was hoping it would be encouraging to other players.

Thank you Vince you always have kind words and we can't wait to meet you either. Thank you Michelle for posting the article. And Bullados thank you for your kind words also. See everyone next weekend!!

Good luck to everyone at States!!!

Umm yeah... Congrats to him but not many tough players in juniors...

why are you all such jerks to the lad? he's 10 years old, he has slight disfunctions, and he's really something. I wish I could be like him!

Hey gengar, when you get half as many cities medals as him, then talk smack. The nerve of some people...

I'm better than him so I'mma prove my legit street credits and type about that now, because I want people to respect me and the best way to do that is to insult a little kid who got his name in the paper. Now all I have to do is find out his exact list, build a perfect counter to it, hope he draws a crap hand so I can actually beat him, and then go to the bank so I can deposit my huge ego into my savings account where is shall grow and grow in a doomed attempt to make me the person who matters the most! I shall be a man among boys!

God, why doesn't anyone recognize my maddening credits???

Yeah but with who's deck? Mate, I've never seen a Junior who could build their own deck that was competitive. I've seen this lad play and he's good but is he building his own deck? Me thinks not.

Cheers

Actually i live and go to the same leauge and he does build his own decks with his sister who is in the Seniors.

That's great! It's nice to see someone building their own decks and playing them well. I wasn't having a go at the lad or you, madam.

Now the most important question, how's your poor van doing after all those miles? Better be ready for a trip to San Diego :)

Cheers

Thanks and over the past 2 years we've put 25k miles on my van for Pokemon....can you say mileage reiumbursement?? HAHA!

Just wanted to let everyone know that at the time we were interviewed for this article Josh was #1 throughout all of the divisions in the world from cities until last week. We were just waiting on the medals for the pictures. Also I don't have control over what was printed. Quite a few things he quoted me on was not what I said at all...things tend to be taken out of context.

Thanks to all and good luck to everyone this weekend!!
