BR Donk Report Thread

Got Donked with a Cleffa out. He started, Phanphy. He apologised and went Rainbow, Pluspower, Pluspower, Flail for game?

I was not amused :')

There is only one sabledonk in my area. I am 0-2 vs. it this BR season. It has won 2 BR's, 3-0 dropped, and made top cut every BR it was played. I switched to Gyrados on my last BR and out of 4 games:

- I donked once
- Whiffed donk ONLY because my special dark was prized
- Missed donk due to flashbiting wrong pokemon (active instead of bench, but was still able to T1 a 90 damage G-Dos for a prize and ultimate win.

This is way too fast for a G-Dos list to be winning / setting up!!!

I have also seen a net decked sabledonk handed to a new junior go 4-1 swiss and lose top cut only because my son luck sacked tomb starts each time.

I only hope that P!P looks at the big picture of donks and T1 high damage output and not just "How many times did Sabledonk win a BR?"

IT IS ABSOLUTELY NO FUN TO LOSE T1 WITH A HAND FULL OF GREAT CARDS TO A SABLE DONK DECK! Nor is it fun to see people T1'd by phanphy, rainbow, and 2 plus powers.

Its not just sabledonk. This format is way too fast and random.

I really hope P!P does the right thing and rotates.

Top 4 Masters

Game 1
He goes first with Sableye to my Azelf and Unown Q. Goes through half his deck, Regi moves then Seeker and Overconfident for KO. Didnt get to play

Game 2
Played as Pokemon should. I won.

Game 3
He chooses to go first since we both have Sableye. He tops teh second Pokedrawer+ and already had Seeker in hand to pick up my one bench and Overconfident for game.

He wasn't even playing Sabledonk.

My Boyfirend and I made top 2 in Hollister BR by donking almost ever game but the ones we played against eachother. Which is silly becasue both are decks were not intended to do so. He was playing Gdos and I was playing a Crazy Gallade 4/DCL spread deck. The next day I did really bad with the same deck in Santa Clara but the winner was a LuxChomp which I am sure donked a ton that day."

I hate this format so all day at both tonrys I was chanting "ROTATE! ROTATE! ROTATE!" some people chimed in with me after awhile lol.

And what about OTHERS? This game is meant to be fun for all. IF you just donk, donk, donk it's only fun for you. Not for your opponent.

Everybody is complaining about this format! Here is some advice, "if you can't beat em, join em!!!" it's just that simple.

Sorry, this is not a situation that can be solved with a cliche.

Unless you have any actual practical arguments in support of a format dominated by Sableye donking, then I don't see your point.

Note: everyone 'joining em' IS the problem. Too many matches coming down to who wins the flip/gets a Sableye start.

. <---- The point.

x <---- You. Missed it. Completely.

Pokemon is not a game that should be over by just flipping a coin. Its supposed to be a somewhat strategic game where matchups, skill and a dash of luck decide games. Not a game where luck is all you ever need. The scale has been going down to the luck/matchup part away from Skill for quite a while already. Its just ridiculous now.

I think that 90% of the top tier players (not trying to be elitist, but am going to come off as being so) are opposed to the continuation of this format. It's just kinda the truth.

I made it only to one BR this year. I donked some with a modified Sableye/LuxChomp. (first and last time i played our Luxray Level X in a tournament.) Made it too top 2 in a mirror, conceeded to T2 in mirror who because they won the last round of swiss. Good bye Uxie Quadro Donk, Good bye Sable Donk, .... You may now return to a more reasonable game of pokemon.

Thanks all for posting.

I like this pre-Nationals Rotation. So exciting.

Last Battle Road of the season, I played Gyarados with a pretty heavy focus on the donk.

I played 8 games, and donked 3 of 4 rounds in swiss, and once in Top 4.

My Final BR and I go 3-1 with 3 donks. Losing only to Sabledonk. Thankfully none of mine where from sableye. One was Zekrom dce + 2 Plus Powers, Reshiram DCE double crobat and a plus power and the third was Minncino dce 2 crobats and a plus power and lucky head flips. Sadly all these will stay except the crobat. Which makes for a fun game when i can turn and donk the way I was.
