Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Califonia States The Biggest And Best State Event Now Updated With Everything!!!!

nobody is looking forward to a +12 hour tourney...you want more rounds, show up on time and pray that tourney starts on time to get the maxium number rounds in...no one person can predict that all will run smooth - just saying!!!

it would be great if the tourney didnt have to be so long, but snubbing the players of rounds at every tournament is unfair in obtaining a worlds invite. maybe instead of "praying" those who are running the event should do everything they can to organize and be prepared for such a large tourney. if other states can do it with no problem, why cant cali? is the player base too dedicated? would you like for us to not care as much?

Ugh, you changed the times :/ Hope it starts on time this time, if we need to get there earlier...

And I thought it was about $15 for parking...

Here is what I would like to see States look like:

9:30 am start time (I'm giving a half hour to the players' meeting, how generous!)
10:30 am Round 2 begins
11:30 am Round 3 begins
1 pm Lunch Ends and Round 4 begins
2 pm Round 5 begins
3 pm Round 6 begins
4 pm Round 7 begins*
5 pm Round 8 begins **
6 pm Round 9 begins ***
8 pm T16 begins after Dinner Break and Top Cut deck check for Masters
9:15 pm T8 begins
10:30 pm T4 begins
11:45 pm T2 begins
1 am Tournament ends

* = If necessary for Seniors/Juniors
** = Only for Masters
*** = Only for Masters if 256+ players are reached (I believe that is the cutoff)

Now, I gave max rounds here and a very generous amount of time. California States has been 7 rounds like every year of its existence. From 111 Masters in 2004 to 230 Masters in 2010. Many other States have gotten 8 rounds. We deserve not only 8, but 9 if we get the required number. Despite being shorted on rounds at States last year, and many Cities before that, California still managed to get 3 players in through rating in Masters last year into Worlds and another 3 at U.S. Nationals for a total of 6 into Worlds. We are the biggest and best state for Pokemon. I would like us to stop becoming the laughing stock for tournament quality. We have the numbers and the staff. Let's make this the best event I KNOW it can be.

Main things to bring:
Pokemon ex (must be mint)
pokemon stars (must be mint)
tropical wind worlds promo (any year)
pre release sleeves(must be sealed and unused)
pokemon lvl x
primes
legends
shineys
lot's of $$$$$$$$$

we'll be at the hilton executive floor on friday afternoon........................

Party at the mandalay bay on 3/18, nevada states

I'm considering flying in for this on Friday night. Is LAX the best airport to fly into? What are my hotel options near the Queen Mary? Anything walking distance?

LAX or John Wayne would be good. Queen Mary is also a hotel, but you may have to book 2 nights. Theres a few hotels also right by the queen mary.

the best one that is closest is LGB. if you get a rental car then BUR and LAX would be a good choice

Queen Mary has some rooms on it. They aren't great (cold and noisy), but it is very convenient. My favorite place to stay is the Hilton (Formerly called Hotel Maya) right near by. There's a Residence Inn a short walk away. As I recall, there was a Westin a short walk away. The problem with Westin is that the area can get a bit confusing to walk, and it is a good enough distance away to get lost on the way to the Queen Mary. Just google search "Long Beach hotel" and you should find some decent hotels. There is plenty in the area. Once again, if you have the means to do so, I'd recommend just staying at the Queen Mary.

The Long Beach airport (LBG) is much closer, more convenient, and less crowded, but there are few airlines that go there. JetBlue is one that does.

So...think we'll be safe on the boat? I don't want lunch break to start that then find out that we've been swept in the middle of the ocean, we players not noticing that a tsunami has sent us afloat (if the Queen Mary can still do that...)...

Wonder if the Queen Mary will still be there when we arrive later this afternoon :p

Seriously though, hope everyone affected is safe and that our weekend doesn't contain any troubles.

EDIT: Doesn't seem like it'll be too bad for the south. All the same, anyone who will be on the coast this morning should watch out for updates.
