Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Can anyone think of a better list for the upcoming Virizion/Genesect

Although I didn't see his entire deck, a friend played a proxied version of a Virizion EX/Genesect EX at league today. He only ran Virizion and Genesect (4 each) Poke in his deck. It is a formidable deck and quite impressive, especially after he attached the G-Booster. I played my Darkrai EX deck (not updated post Nats) and we played 3 games. Fortunately, I won 2 of the 3 games although it was tough since some cards in my deck were neutralized: Ht Lasers, VCG, and Keldeo EX. I really liked the idea that the virizion-Genesect deck can play up to 8 "Catchers" - cuased me some trouble too.

I'm glad to see another Poke that can inflict 200 damage. It will be interesting to see how much Virizion EX and Genesect EX will impact the future game format (post World after the sets rotation). Lots of "buzz" about this deck right now too.

I think you have too many pokemon. Virizion EPO takes too long to charge when you want to attack with Genesect, and Emolga (even though it is a good card) leaves you fairly open to donking by a plasma deck. Shaymin EX, with no means of charging in one turn, is as you said of Victini EX, "basically three free prizes." Energy Retrieval isn't that useful because Virizion EX attached from the deck, not from the hand. If you plan on going aggro G Booster, I think that it would be in your interest to use Super Rod and Shadow Triad. If your booster gets scrapped, Shadow Triad lets you get it back. It depends on what you want to base your offense on.

I'm excited about a grass deck and I'm probably going to play Grass next format.

I know that Genesect and Virizion work really well together, but I wonder how Virizion might benefit on its own? Would that be somewhat viable?

Hard as it could be, what about Sableye for junk hunt? The idea that my Ace Spec could be tool scrapped is a bit concerning, but with the energy discard requirement, you might be lucky to get it to fire again after the initial turn you play it. Thoughts?
