Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Canadian Nationals 2009

I hope to do well at this event. I have only been to Nats once before (4-2, 9th miss cut :nonono:) so this year, I would love to win the big event. As long as I avoid Terry I should do extremely well:p I hope Masters get 7-8 rounds with a top 16 (it isn't that far from regionals is it?). I will be telling my friends to come so I hope they will:lol: Good luck to all:thumb:

but youll get 1 knockout for 3 energies
just to be knocked out by another upcoming flygon SW or RR ;/
 
TDT: We will definately get a top 16 easily. At regionals for the past 2 years (in masters, that I know of), we have had top 16. I seriously doubt a NATIONAL championships (in masters) will have less than that.
 
Why is the booster support so much weaker than for Nationals? It now only rewards the top 4 players essentially, while the rest of us get next to nothing for top-cutting. There are a lot more people to consider than only the "elite". The rest of us have a hard enough time getting to the top cut, and I wish there was something more than just 4 packs (Less than half of what was handed out at Regionals) for doing so. Shouldn't that be how it works? I've never been an elite player because I don't have the funds in the first place. If I can't win anything to supplement my card base, why would I keep playing?

that is true, but i think the main reason why they are able to do this is because

so they can have any type of prize support and no one is allowed to complain about it. after all, The Pokémon Company International would still like to make some money. can't just give everyone something for free, am sure they have a very well thought of system for this kinda of things.

and why would you keep playing ? because you love this game :p
 
Sadly, my parents don't see that. They don't see the good of the game for the game itself. They see me spending too much money on cards that should go towards my University/College fund.
It helps me to reduce the amount of money spent when I can win a bunch of packs for doing well.
Just because it's free doesn't mean they should lessen the prize support. Pokemon makes millions through the card game regardless of whether they purchase 12 or so more boxes for one tournament. The biggest tournament in Canada should not have lesser prizes than Regionals. That's all I'm saying.

It doesn't. At Regionals you don't get as much money, you don't get a DSi for t4, and most importantly, you don't get trips/invites to worlds. Regionals may have had more packs, but overall Nats has better prizes by far.

I believe I should start praying for a blizzard to shut down the QEW between St. Catharines and TO, because its probably just as likely as me going anything other than 0-X with Sean in the room:eek:

Hey has anyone ever noticed the old special dark are rare and the new ones are not? ....... anyways good luck to everyone looking forward to seeing everyone again. This should be fun! Geneses get some sleep this time.
