Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Canadian Nationals

Gah I completely forgot to update on this here and my phone ate my last post. Short version: TPCi did get back to me and we can enter US and Canada VGC Nationals regardless of our Nationality. If you want to see exactly what they said I copy pasted it in the Canada National thread in the VGC forum on Smogon so you can read it there. Ugh can't wait to have a computer again so I can type proper posts out.

if you look closely, US national has scholarships.

ps: just so there's no confusion, am not confirming anything on the skyfoxgame website , just pointing out the difference between the two faqs

I really don't think that list is right, it says there are trips for t4 and invites for t8.

which is exactly what the us gets.

Granted it says nothing about scholorships, I don't think they've ever increase Canadian invites to top 8.

Top 4 get invites and Top 2 get trips in TCG according to this page.
Top 2 get trips with invites in VGC. Top 4 get nothing.

I decided to go to US Nationals instead of this but hope to meet more Canadians at Worlds =) Hopefully next year US and Canadian Nationals are on different weekends!

Yeah. Well, I'm not going to do too well considering the competition but it'll give me the chance to see a lot of old friends again =) It's cheaper to fly to Chicago and bus down to Indy than flying to Toronto as well.

Gonna borrow a deck for side events on Friday though! There should be another few BC people at Canadian Nats though, so I'm rooting for them to take home the title! You should just take the TCG crown and leave them alone on Sunday imo ;D

Hello everyone, new to the forum and the game, but I'll be going to my first Pokemon National Championship this year. Therefore I'm super excited and hoping to meet a lot of new friends at Toronto. Now could the community help me out with something? Since I'm new to the game and does not know anyone, but I wish to meet all the top tier players this trip. Could you guys help me generate a list of all Canadian Masters (sorry kids) that has ever played in the World Championship. Thanks a lot. A template I had in mind looks something like this:

2010-2011 Season

Champion: AAA
Runner-up: BBB
Semi-finalist: CCC & DDD
Rating Invite: EEE, FFF, & GGG
Last Chance Last Chance Qualifier: HHH, III, & JJJ

* assume invite to World was always giving to the top 4 place finishers.

@skyfoxgames.com

Looks like top 8 :/

Is skyfox games TPCi? Is a statement on invites by skyfoxgames binding upon TPCi?

I could post that the UK nationals will have T4 trips and T8 invites but that does not over-ride TPCi when TCPi has already posted that it is T2 trips and T4 invites on the pokemon.com site.

Best bet is to ask skyfoxgames AND TCPi pointing out the discrepancy. http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/championship-series/world-championships/invitations/

[FWIW it is T2 trips and T4 invite at UK nationals]

we all saw what the skyfoxgames site posted, so you didn't have to copy paste the the whole page. it was already linked about 10 posts above yours :D we are just looking to get someone to double check and make sure that those info are indeed correct. so is your post confirming that the info are all true on behave of skyfoxgames and/or pokemon? that's what we really want to know.

Again I could be totally wrong but for Mexican Nationals, the player who came in 5th stated that he obtained an worlds invite. However, on the website Mystery Thing posted it states that Mexico also has only invites for top 4??

could just be a pass down if one of the top 4 choice not to accept the invite.

Spoke to Marvin at London Battle Roads.

Confirmed to me that it is top 2 get travel rewards, and there is no Ugly Cup this year due to the 2nd place finisher getting a reward

Is that the reason? Or is it due to the vgc running sunday?
