Carnivine (DEX 5) Lure Poison and Sky Pillar (CES 144)

My active carnivine (DEX 5) attacks with lure poison while sky pillar (CES 144) is in play, for the sake of this assume that neither pokémon in play on my opponent's side have any additional protections beyond what is provided by sky Pillar.

Lure Poison
"switch the defending pokémon with one of your opponents benched pokémon. The new defending pokémon is now poisoned"

Sky Pillar
"prevent all effects of the opponent's attacks, including damage, done to benched pokémon (both yours and your opponents)."

Would the benched chosen to replace the active pokémon be protected by sky pillar's bench protection in this case. would the switch and poison both effect the benched pokémon?

When the Poison is applied, the Pokemon is in the Active spot, so it would not be protected and would be Poisoned.
