Whoa, never thought raindance would return, next thing you know, we will have...Ditto ex! lol :-D

Make sure and take notice of that Damage efffect too...personally I think that balances him pretty nicely. But then again I'm still waiting for the Eeveelutions to get EXs...they really should you know...*shrugs*

I knew when I first saw R/S, EX's and beyond would kill the game. Because it looked like the game was only going for stronger and stronger items and pokemon and no strategy. Guess this charizard with 160HP and an attack that can do 200 damage kinds elaborates my point.

edit:

I now see that my post was wrong. The bigger HP's and attacks are not killing the game. The game was always about the bigger HP and attack and thus it is only evolving into a bigger game. The problem I have with pokemon is that I want more things to come out that instead of adding bigger and badder pokemon, it adds more strategy to the game. Maybe one day there will be another way to win instead of doing infinite amounts of damage, or having huge amounts of health. But until then, I will always be looking for the hidden strategy and will always look down upon the creation of bigger, badder pokemon.

So long as Zard can't turn Boosts into fire, or any other special energy for that matter, it won't be broken. HOPEFULLY, they do this and make him only be able to use basic energy cards for its attack. If they do this, he's definitely NOT broken.

And prime, the game is not just ex-mon. How many ex pokemon do we see in decks? There are 2 Rayquazza in Blaziken, and in niniken there aren't any at all lol. There's still plenty of pokemon that aren't ex that work. Sceptile, salamence, victreebell. Sure, some are mixed with some ex's, but they definitely need the non-ex to work. When these come out, THEN we'll see how the format is affected.

Putting Boost would not work all the time because the Chari EX's Burn out attack says discard 5 energy CARDS. So 2 energy cards that provide only one energy each and one boost that provide 3 is only 3 energy cards. Especially when they put the phrase ....or this attack does noting.

You're right about the fact that Ex-pokemon can't work alone. Some supported by other non-ex ones to work.

BTW any idea in what set they would appear in the English Text? :)

Inflation is already here Planteon :(.. The Blastoise EX looks like the most troubling card of the three. Turn two 80 damage is lethal to all the normal basic and stage 1 pokemon I can think of. :(

We no longer have Pokémon but EXémon!

[edit could be worse we could have EXe-FOILémon..... oops)

The EX-cards are only the tip of the ice-berg I'm afraid. The average HP has risen and the average cost of damage has decreased.
As an example, during the "EX-era" there has only been two (2) cards with HP30, and less than 14% have HP40 or less (e-Cards about 18%, Previuos sets about 25% although it has varied - Neo Discovery had 38%, Base 29% and Jungle only 15%*), so it's not only the top end that has changed...

* Jungle is the exception for the early sets, good value for money if HP:s is the only thing you're interested in as these boosters can found for less than 1$ these days...

Well I don't want to speak for planteon but the whole problem with inflation has not much to do with these EX's. These EX's are just a prime example of how inflated the pokemon are getting. Pokemon have been inflating since R/S. TPC cut the baby pokemon, making them basics, and raised the HP of the average to about 130 now. Thats 30 more than it used to be before R/S. Average damage was bought to 100-120 by gardevior and BAR and wailord type decks doing 100 very easily on it's own. Back in the days, 100HP was awesome. Now it is a first turn easy kill against BAR and Gardevior type decks. Doing 30 was great for three back in jungle, now the average is 50-70 for three. I only see the game getting more inflated because it doesn't seem like TPC has any ideas of adding anything "new" to the game.
