Conkeldurr NV/Mew prime/Togekiss AKA Trollface

Hello Gym readers,

I actually try to make a deck with the New NV Conkeldurr, wich is awesome to me. But I have consistency problems ,with my trainer line. So if someone wants to help, there is potential yet lot of work to do

decklist :

3-1-2 Conkeldurr NV
3-3 Electrode prime TM
3 Mew prime TM
2 Togekiss UD
1 (Gothithelle counter, I tought of Mewtwo EX but we have to wait some more before it's release...)

3 rare candy
2 Pokemon Communication
1 PONT
1 N
1 Twins
2 Super rod
4 Switch
1 revive
1 junk arm

3 psychic
3 rainbow
3 DCE

Strategy :

I want to abuse Conkeldurr's Ability and overcome it's attck slowness with Electrode's energymite: while the beast is charging up, it also gains lots of HP, and thus survives many hits. But, this way it will die late or sooner. So, Mew prime sends to lost Zone Togekiss, that heals fully all my pokemon in play but it's shuffled back in the deck awterwards with Blessed Wings.
Mew uses that, heals and disappears in the deck, and never dies. So does Conkeldur. You either charge it with a second energymite or manually to gain more HP while hitting 80 and eventually discarding key cards in your opponent's deck. but, that combo needs switch (retreat conkeldurr once it has been damaged) and DCE (to use Blessed wings)
There is only something : That deck is immune to catcher mid game/late game... because in order to function well, Conkeldurr is the only pokemon on the field once you used electrodes prime and when your starter Mew has been Ko'ed(mid game/late game).
Why Trollface ? Well, to troll your opponent : I have 380 HP. Problem ?:lol:

Not too complicated, but I haven't found the right T/S/S engine for that deck. If anyone has ideas, feel free to post. Thanks.

Edit : Props to vaporeon, who posted his Nuketown decklist in his reports. That reminded me how useful Electrode is, and served me as a basis material for that deck.

The Togekiss/Mew idea is quite clever and original, haven't seen that often. Although it shuffles mew back into the deck if I remember self referencing rulings.

I would try to get more Twins in the deck, mainly because it's slow, but also because you can abuse Electrode Prime's power to get behind early on. I would even consider maxing it to 4.
I'd also try and make the Conkeldurr line 4-2-3, to maximise consistency especially considering trainer lock will just lock you into not being able to evolve pretty much.

I can't think of anything else, as I haven't playtested the concept of the deck, so if you come up with any results against other decks you've faced, it'll be easier to make more suggestions.

Really nice idea on some of the deck though.
 
I tried the 4-2-3 Line, when I made the first built of this deck, and from what I seen, the third conkeldurr and Gurdurr eat space I need for other cards. deck Space is the main issue here, thar's why I have so much trouble to fix that deck, everything is critical.
maxing twins is a exactly what I tought after today's League session. I'll Try that .

As for the decks I faced :

Zekrom : Well, Zekrom players have to solely use Tornadus because of Zekrom's fighting weakness.
They have the lead early game If there isn't a donk, but I slowly but surley gain prizes. A rather simple match.

Reshiram(any version) : A bit tougher, but it depends of my opponent's list, especially if they play RDL. Same scenario, I come back after 2-3 prizes.

I did'nt test Yanmega/zone yet, but the biggest problem will be trainer lock/Ross decks also because there is reuniclus.


the real problem lies in starting hands : I don't have mew , or candy, or conkeldurr... and often drawing makes things worse , I only draw energies !
After seeing this, I think I will drop Juniper for PONT. Perhaps 2 enginner + 2 Energy returner UL to shuffle back my discarded energies.
I'm seeking space for Research record , too.

Why hasn't research record been mentioned here. It is nearly required in a deck that uses energymite to ensure you draw energy. I like the idea and mihgt test on playtcg.
 
I mentionned it in my second post (end).
And I'm seriously thinking about Enginner + energy returner + research record . I will test that.
 
Thanks for the shout out. The deck looks fine to me. Mewtwo ex would be the best Goth counter but maybe put Cincinno in the deck and the forth mew prime.

Also try to add at least 3 Research records. Enginner is a fun card but I don't have much use for it on my list and energy returner makes energymite fun.
 
tested a bit with Dual Ball instead of collector to increase speed, a giving me a way to draw after searching for basic, instead of only using collector, and added a third comm. I also added a few great balls, interesting. But I still don't have space for research Record...
