Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

DF deck boxes have not arrived

Prime has made a very good statement.
What, so the Chinese company will condition themselves to do everyhting late, is that what it is?
Nintendo would be losing a bit by destroying the boxes.

BTW what do the boxes look like, anyway?

I was at target th other day and they had deck boxes with rapidash on them I belive and they were selling them for $2. It seemed like they just stocked them. I didnt buy one though.

I don't think Nintendo has to destroy them. So what if they are late, couldn't they just hold onto them and give them away later? How much money do they lose if they destroy them?

I believe that if Nintendo refuses them then they don't pay anything, therefore not losing anything.

That doesnt seem fair to the sweatshops that used up their time and money to make the deck boxes.

can people please stop asking either "lower the price," or "give me something else."
Again, pre-releases just barely started giving deck boxes in Legend Maker.
It's not that new and exciting.

Especially, now, after reading Magnus's thread, I really feel strongly about this.
Yes, I would like a deck box.
I would like it a lot.
But I'm not going to kill people for it.

Get real.
You can't do anything about it anymore.

BTW Ditto, I meant they could sell them and get somewhat of a sum.

extra prizes are gone forever.
Most PTOs don't give out extra prizes?
At the last 2 Aardvark Gym prerleases we gave away one booster box to each age category (and distributed it between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place).
Yes, there are a few PTOs who are not active on the forums and aren't into the game that much, and consequently aren't willing to provide extra prizes, but there are lots of PTOs that do.

If by extra prizes you mean for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., then I would disagree that lots of PTOs are still doing that. Over a year ago the direction of the Prereleases was changed to more fun and less competition, and consequently the extra prize support was discontinued.

There were a number of PTOs who continued to add extra prizes at their own expense, and I was one of them. However, after doing that for over a year I must admit that I have joined the ranks of PTOs who add the extra stuff in the form of giveaways that everyone has a chance to get, not extra prizes that only the top players have a real chance at. If you are a player that often places in the top 4, I suppose you won't like that, but I've got news for you. There are far more players out there that have never placed in the top 4, and they like to have a chance to get some extra stuff too.

And back to your statement about "a few PTOs who are not active on the forums and aren't into the game that much, and consequently aren't willing to provide extra prizes", well, most of the PTOs here at the Gym DO NOT add extra prizes any longer, so I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. I'm all for adding extra stuff, but in the form of raffles and other things that everyone has a chance at.

Losing out on the DF deck boxes bites, but PUI has to hold their manufactuer to the contract. I wish there were a way to get the boxes to the PTOs and then out to the players at later dates without sacrificing the business integrity of PUI, but I just don't see it. I'm sure we'll all have fun, and a few of the boxes will be "rescued" to be auctioned on ebay for those hard core collectors who have to have everything. Hopefully the manufacturer will feel the financial hit and get their act together for the next set.

This is why I feel Japanese deck boxes would have been better from the start.

Instead of POP making set themed DB's, we could've just asked Japan to produce a little more of the deck boxes already made and sell it to us instead. No offence to anyone from China but I'd like something from Japan a bit more; even toilet paper. (yes I'm an odd one)

The deck box replaced 2 booster packs. We used to get 4 boosters after the tournament, then it became 2 boosters and a deck box. Now that we aren't getting the deck box, or anything to replace it, some people feel a little ripped off. I'm still going today because pre-releases are fun, but I have a right to feel a bit disappointed.

I was at Target today and saw they were selling the Moltres deck box (in a plastic baggie with nothing else) for $1.99. I had bought the combo box that had the articuno and zapdos deck boxes in them a while back but never got the moltres one, so I took the opportunity and bought it. This is a great idea in my honest opinion. Not everyone can get to pre-releases, but the deck boxes are loved by many.

For example, I have a friend that lives in Pennsylvania(first try spelling, I might be wrong), named Richard (what's up Richard!? if you see this) and there aren't many people in his area that play the game. Because of this, there usually aren't tournaments close to him to go to. He comes over to NC once a year to hang out with his friends (including me), and I showed him two of the deck boxes I had gotten in the past (LM and HP). He LOVED them. He liked them so much, I gave them to him. Even though he might go back to Pennsylvania and put his VS system deck in it, he still really liked the deck boxes and I'm sure would buy them if a local Target was selling them for $2.

Add in that this would be a good way to get the deck boxes to the public without having to damage the 4 extra pack pre-release prize, and I think it's a great idea. Target is already selling pokemon card books (I saw a Crystal Guardian one that I wanted), and most pokemon gift boxes. This would give new players something special to put their deck in, and give older players something to collect. It's cheap, it's nice looking, it's collectable, and if sold in stores, we'd still get 10 packs at a pre-release.

Who wouldn't be up for that idea?
