Expert Belt...And What It Means For The Game

Hmm, Deafen for 30? Dialga G may hit the tables again, though I most certainly hope not.

I love how people keep forgetting you can't use Expert Belt and Energy Gain together. NOBODY should be playing SP Pokemon without Energy Gain. NOBODY. The extra damage and HP are not worth the speed you lose, because that's an SP deck's best asset.

...Usually.

SP decks have to wade through Spiritomb first. And seeing as how Spiritomb turns its entire engine off, they're gonna be needing a loooot of work to get stuff going.

expert belt + shuppet platium seems one of the better combos, 50 for one and it returns to your hand so its safe from the 2 prize part

gliscor is another possiblity but not as good cause you can't add 20 dam to burning poison with expert belt

Deafen only needs 2 energy... And that's the only attack you use the entire game.. you COULD play E-gain, but I'm just throwing an idea out there. I never said that you could play both E-gain and Expert Belt on the same pokemon, nor did I say that you should play SP decks without E-gain. Don't be so quick to start an argument!

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Dialga G X shuts off Spiritomb.

Certainly hope you have an alternative way to get to him, because SP Radar doesn't work anymore. Spiritomb slows SP decks down considerably now, which is what SP decks pretty much based everything on.

^ I agree. SP Radar is a very good card and has speeded SP decks up a lot, but they worked ok before SP Radar was released.

But yeah, they will probably need to go back to using Bebe's, if they don't already use it (SP decks running Claydol, Ninetales or Mismagius techs run Bebe's anyway).

what about with guys that do swallow up like carnavine?
+20 hp and +20 damage + shaymin lv.x = basic with 130 hp doing 80 damage for 2 energy!

Expert Belt + SSU + BTS + low Energy attacker = good
Expert Belt + random Pokemon you have always liked but was too slow/underpowered = not so good

Exactly.

I mean, really, if everyone puts Expert Belt on everything, that slow/underpowered card will again be slow/underpowered.
