Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Generation Contest - TIE BREAKER RESULTS UP!

Sure, I'll justify.

@ Wally -

That's a promo only released in Japan...

The [C] weakness mixed with [P] is strange, not singularly.

Latias/os always use different energies in their attacks so that's not too unusual. Anyway, that card was released from McDonalds.

I'm sure I'm missing something so could you clarify how they are psychic? I compared to to Delta Species since those are the ones with energy types other than [C]. Since all Dual Legends have been two types, that's what I thought made more sense. Sorry for the weakness confusion, I meant combined weakness.

I apologize if I graded unfairly... it probably seems like a much bigger decrease since I'm such an easier grader. :)

A tie - breaker round would still occur.

I apologize if you think my grading was unfair. Next time, I'll try to make sure I am positive with my results.

Nevertheless, it is still a Pokemon card, no matter where it was released...

Maybe during the Base Set, it will not make sense, when no Pokemon is really weak to [C]. However, [C] now seems to be as legitimate as a type as compared to [R], [W], etc. with all the Dragon Pokemon and those weak to [C] and resistant to [C]. I also find it interesting that [P] and [C] are the only two types in the TCG that are weak to its own type. I guess it's also a way to balance the card out a bit.

Well, because they are Psychic Pokemon. I don't think there's anything clearer than that. And I don't think it's right to pretend Latios and Latias are not Psychic Pokemon.

-------------------

In all honesty, I've seen weirder things in the TCG than [P] and [C] type and weakness in a single Pokemon (like Rayquaza LA with [L] and [R] Energy requirements, Bronzong MD being weak to [P], Garchomp not having resistance to [L] when it has essentially the same type as Flygon in the games, etc.). Our card's typing and weakness is not really farfetched or illogical as you make it to be.

Having said that, I would want to put this disagreement to rest since I think it's pointless now. I guess the only thing we can do now is do our best in the Tie-Breaker round.

Through out the contest, this is the first time you actually graded the card only comparing to a real card not a card that could really made real

Well, I kind of had to... keep in mind there were only 3 cards I could use so it was rather more difficult.

Sorry for the disagreements. Next time I'll try to fix any problems. And I really didn't know they were Psychic Pokemon. :/

For positive news, the Tie Breaker ULTIMATE ROUND will be up TOMORROW! :)

hey

Minion Rage is broken if it hits heads....

i know this is a little late and all, but i totally agree with this. If Nidoking had an Expert belt on it it could do up to about 240 damage which is enough to KO virtually any card. even Wailord GE WITH an expert belt attached to it.

correct me if i'm wrong

did you only state at the tittle about tie breaker when there is no guideline for that round

just so nobody doubts my sanity is was approximately 472 seconds after my post...

Intresting idea... it's like dancing on the edge of brokenness... I take it the Trainer cards are off limits?

ahh i like it

but eat this!

Darkrai Legend

:ppowr: Nightmares
Once this power is used your opponent's active pokemon takes 10 damage each turn until it is knocked out.

:dark::dark::dark::dark::metal:Dark Void 250
Discard 3 enrgies attatched to your darkrai.

Due to lack of relevant posts, I'm bumping in the name of justice

I was also wondering when we might expect to see the final results

Ugh, sorry everyone, I was away for the entire week. Results should be up by tomorrow!

LMAO!!!!!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm inspired by ArceusRules to create a card I know he'll love.

Happiny LEGEND 70 HP [C]
LEGEND Pokemon

A Happiny is driving a truck over a "mysterious" trainer.

[C][C] Nurse Joy's Blessing
Remove all damage counters from all Happiny in play.

[C][C][C] Baby Bonanza 50 +
Does 50 damage + 30 more damage for each Baby Pokemon on your Bench.

HAPPINY is a Pokemon naturally suited for a LEGEND or Prime.

Weakness: [F] + 20
Resistance: [ ]
Retreat Cost: [C]

I really like this Furret. Being a Stage 1, it can be quickly put into use. The Power is something that can be used every turn, and the resemblance to Monk's Training is very small - not enough to count against you. I can certainly see this being used in lots of decks. What I very much approve of is that you don't shuffle your deck afterward, meaning you must get the remaining, less useful cards to balance out the Power. Scavenge is a nice, well - thought out attack. I like Straight Sprint, and Furret being Colorless means it can attack, hooray! I do think Furret should have [C] Retreat Cost, as that is the norm and a Retreat Cost would help balance out Furret.

Sentret is excellent, except for Survey. So I pick the Energies... and then what? Do I discard the cards? Put them in the Lost Zone? Shuffle them back into my deck?

Team G4 - 6 Points
Looking at this, I see a cool card but not a staple. Being a LEGEND means it can't be used so easily. The Power is nifty but not a necessity in lots of decks that have low attack costs - Kingdra, Luxape, Jumpluff, Gyarados, etc. I just can't see myself needing an energy so much I have to play a LEGEND to get it. Since this will not be useful in the grand majority of decks, it's not really a staple Power.

Healing Wish is not so great; I'd rather just use Blissey Prime. Having to attack is a shame, and I have to incorporate a Grass Energy in my deck to use it. I would not want to, say, discard all my Energies on Flygon to heal 90. Again, Blissey Prime is much better. There's also the matter of SSU so that I can return energies to my hand rather than discard them.

If I'm misreading something, both of these scores can be revised.

Congrats G3!
