Gothitelle EP + Gardevoir ND?

You never mention the new Gardevoir anywhere in your post.

I think you are right with "not forgetting it", I wrote off Gardevoir because it would be a 3rd Stage 2 in the deck, but if Reuniclus line can be used more seldom or not be used at all then Gardevoir is a good option. After that I can agree with all you have been said after this. But without Reuniclus decks like Tyram can wear it down, because Reshiram is a basic that doesn't have Psychic weakness.

If you have a follow up Gothitelle ready before your opponent's next turn (since even if they KO your current Gothitelle, you've got a turn to set-up a replacement before said opponent can use Items) the lock remains. If Gothitelle can become a fast, hard attacker even if it gets taken out after a turn or two, you can keep the pressure on to win. Also, there is always Defender unless your opponent also has an Item Lock going..

If you can stream Stage 2 Goths, then you can keep the pressure. Defender is a good option that I overlooked, but you must attach 2 of them at one turn to overcome 150 damage attack from Reshi and Zekrom EX.

At the very least it might luck into being so stupid it works. You know, when everyone forgets to plan for a deck that "no one in his/her right mind would run" and then... someone runs it.

I agree, but it depends on the metagame. Goth has another huge problems besides Mewtwo: Durant for example.

Most Goth decks ran Reuniclus because Goth is slow and doesn't have good energy acceleration, which Gardey can easily fix since you get faster energy acceleration.

Plus the Reuniclus strategy required a format where few Pokemon can OHKO a healthy Gothitelle without access to Items: either PlusPower to boost damage or Rare Candy to get into play/get important Stage 2 support into play. That is not true anymore, so I don't think Reuniclus is worth playing in the deck at all.

With Gardevoir, perhaps alongside a "lucky" Electrode Prime or Jirachi, Gothitelle is can go on the offensive. Pokemon EX will be hard to OHKO, but it is possible. As long as the deck can survive the turn or two the opponent does get to use Items, Gothitelle just needs to be strong enough to KO what amounts to a deck with its "hands" tied behind its back. ;)

Quick note, I was wrong: Exp. Share was in BW: Next Destinies, so yeah that totally should be a must for Gothitelle/Gardevoir decks, plus a few others.
