Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Hey all,
I played Pokemon like 4 years ago, and am just getting back into it. I am working on a Lucario/Empoleon deck and could use some suggestions for trainer and supporter cards.
 
My cousin jack, has got me into playing this card game a . However, i a little overwhelmed with the changes. so i have come here to learn. :)

Hello there. I'm new, as you may have guessed. I enjoy the TCG. I don't do organized play since I live in a small town but my friends and I at church play a lot, unlimited of course :p. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

My daughter has gotten very interested in playing and needed someone to practice with. I keep asking her what she needs to help build her deck and the next thing I know, I'm asking how to build my own deck.

Hi and new here

I've got a lot of questions regarding specific cards in the pokemon tcg. If any one could help me out, just let me know. One question i have: Can I evolve Scyther to a Rocket's Scizor Ex using a Rare candy? Also, Can i use a rare candy the same turn i just put down a basic down in play to evolve it in that very same turn? This was done to me in a tournament by an opposing player.
