How to Help your States run more smoothly!

The link worked fine for me; it's a pdf file, so you need Acrobat Reader to open it...

Help

Yeah I know its a PDF. I do have Acrobat Reader, maybe its outdated?

I have Acrobat Reader 5.0. Did you try to open that link now? Did it open? What version of reader do you have? Do I need that version? If so, where do I get it?

Wow, lots of questions.

One thing that I see go overlooked at every tournament-

Do not under any circumstances, for any reason whatsoever, let any of your belongings out of your sight for a second. Take them with you. Be sure to gather all your coins, dice, and damage counters promtply after every game. (I count my dice to make sure they're all there.) If you look away, or heaven forbid walk away for even the smallest amounts of time, odds are that when you get back something (or everything!) will be gone. Why is this important? Because you not only lose your stuff, but such things need to be reported promptly to the TO so that they can get everyone quiet, make an announcement, look around... it uses resources and time. So be a great and responsible player! Never leave your stuff unattended for any reason, and everyone will go home happy ^_^

Oh yeah, where ever you go, you bet there are going to be sneaky people just waiting on you to make that mistake of leaving your stuff unattended. Especially in limited space. So my recommendation, bring only what you need. Don't bring gameboys, iPods, and such. They'll make you uncomfortable and you'll probably loose something.

If they have a water table with a white cloth on it, just put your backpack or whatever you have under there, worked for me :)

"When pairings are posted, please find your seat as soon as possible. Don't forget to flip for who goes first before you draw your hand. Don't forget to lay your prizes too!!"

Just noticed this. I might be wrong, but doesn't the new startup rules state that you draw your hand, check for basics, resolve mulligans, place prizes, draw extra cards for your opponent's mulligans, THEN check to see who goes first? Other than that, I like your list. Lots of good suggestions.

We're providing a valuable service to our CO States players. For the 10 reprinted cards listed in the POP Tournament Rules that require the latest versions (either Carddex or Card), we're consolidating the Carddex text and card images for those 10 reprints onto a single sheet for players to take and use as needed.

Also, during registration and throughout the tournament, we'll be having players fill out a player match record just in case TOM "craps out" (or we lose power, etc) and we need to run the remainder of the tournament on paper.

Aardvark Gym does this also. A good idea.

Offer your deck for deckcheck in the same order as written on your decklist.
If something really saves time, it's this way of checking.
