How was the Vendor At Nats?

Just this one indcident should make Pokemon reject them as vendors next year. Serisouly.

No but, they should set some ground rules and maybe open up to other vendors.
I mean come on illegal Pokemon games being sold at pokemon nats by the people they let in?
Psshh I laughed at it and so did my friend, but it is the legal issue and the fact of how sad it was.
More choices and more vendors would mean no vendor can go, well we are your only choice, so deal with it.

A key point to remember here though.....
You had a choice, nobody forced you to sell or try to sell cards. Likewise, nobody forced you to buy stuff.

I cant comment on the staff but it sounds like they were very busy and the thought of 1000+ people all trying to use their trading skills and 'i know best about eBay' gives me a migraine and I swim with the sharks daily.

I am also sure that GG learn't a lot of things over the event and will take that into consideration if they attend again.

I will bet you one thing though, they have learn't that no matter how hard you try, you just cant please everyone :)

Really it was buy here, sell here and trade here, because we are your only choice as a vendor.

Something that I noticed that was a big rip off is that they were charging 6 bucks for a BALTOY! That is crazy but other than that I was impressed! It worked out nicely and they even bought my cards that !weren't in mint.

While I wasn't there either. I do recall they were a vendor for Worlds last year. So there should be a bit of experience there, and if I recall there were some issues then as well. This is all going from what has been said around here though both then and now. So take that with a grain of salt etc...

Listen guys - we knew very well that we were walking into a Lion's den prior to the event. There was way too much speculation and animosity by us being the only vendor. So, in my opinion I guess a lot of this is to be expected. We really did try and bend over backwards in bringing as much stuff as possible and setting it at the right price. I feel like everything we did was to try and please everyone - from buying to selling to selection of product. It sounds like SOME people just want to complain about anything and everything.

Thanks to everyone else who came and supported us and are now coming to our defense.

I am revising this original post because after re-reading everything, I feel this thread does not need anything else negative to be added. I understand some of you have some legitimate complaints and we plan on revising those for next time. I am going to remain positive and leave it at that.

Thanks,
Jason

If you go to a ball game and the hotdogs are $5 and a coke is $5 what do you do?

Me? I eat before I go and take a drink with me, thats called choice.

Whilst buying & selling cards was foribidden at the event, trading was allowed.

Now with 2 vendors and a price war you would of had either of these two things happen:
1, A pricing agreement set by both vendors, even if it was unofficial. Thus meaning you are going to pay the same at either vendor - Please dont tell me this doesn't happen, it does....fact
2, An out an out price war, which sounds great until the only things that are left are things you do not want......they would have sold out of the things most people wanted and we would be seeing a whole new set of complaints like "I only wanted a Claydol....I even offered them $10"

Mozz Holiday 2008 Day 1 - Standing inline at the buffet "OMG it's always something and Fries......I dont want goddam fries" said the rather large lady
Mozz Holiday 2008 Day 2 - Standing inline at the buffet "OMG where are the freaking fries.....I want fries with my fries with a side order of fries" said the same lady......I sighed....

Like I said "no matter how hard you try, you just cant please everyone"

if you still have a large selection of cards you would like to sell,....

LOl....see there I am defending you as a business man, then you fire a curve ball right back at lots of other eBayers on this site......... I would state "send me the list too" but I got a infraction for doing that llast time, so I wont do it

Anyway glad to see you stepped up and stood your ground (no pun) here, don't worry about the moaners, they moan when they have nothing to moan about

I never heard the explanation as to why the transactions were cash only. I thought they were going to accept credit cards but maybe I had not read that and only assumed..... I know at Origins many of the vendors accepted credit cards even when it meant phoning in the transaction. That is a nice perk for traveling families so we don't have to carry as much cash.

Dude - I am up to my eyeballs in product - I am just trying to make EVERYONE happy and save some of the drama. Nothing against anyone else. If you want, I can forward you or anyone else the lists  Might save me a headache or two.

AMEN to that!

Listen guys - we knew very well that we were walking into a Lion's den prior to the event. There was way too much speculation and animosity by us being the only vendor. I know a multiple of other dealers who were very upset that they did not have the chance to setup and I have no doubt that a lot of the posts come from their employees/friends as a lot of the things I am reading are a downright lie and never happened. We really did try and bend over backwards in bringing as much stuff as possible and setting it at the right price. I feel like everything we did was to try and please everyone - from buying to selling to selection of product. It sounds like people just want to complain about the entire event. Thanks to everyone else who came and supported us and are sticking up for us. If out of 1200 players we somehow managed to upset a handful I think we did well. Avmozz - you are right one thing we did learn is no matter how hard we try we will never be able to please everyone - some people just like to complain. I think the old saying "Misery breeds company" is a little bit of what's going on here.

Thanks,
Jason
Wo wo wo I am not a liar.
That is a back handed slap right there.
I was handled great by one guy and rude by another.
What part was lies and what was truth and how can you assure us you speak for everyone behind the counter for how busy it was?
I do not work for any other (I have no Job :frown: ) and I am not friends with any of the vendors who wanted to be there.
The prices where fair on almost everything I saw and great deals on the toys and other stuff. I spent good over $50 there on old JPN packs and key chains.
(Also the cut out where cool)
I am upset and how some of us was treated and the fact you sold boot legs at a official event.
(We compared them to my copies at home and it is easy to see it is fake.)
I am not saying you should not be the vendor, but being treated rude when you are tring to buy something? If you can explain why so many where treated rudely with out jumping saying we are lieing or being bias here then please do.
I am open ears and willing to listen.

Also selling on the GYM or leaving saying if you want to sell contact here is against the rules unless handled on the gyms trading thread and you are a authorized seller.

I had that problem too, but that was not a big deal to me. A sign saying no Debit or Credit would have been nice at least.

Please excuse my spelling errors.

I really have too much stuff to do in playing catch up to sit on here and argue. Again, I have not meant anything by the post other than to try and make people happy. I guess to some this will never be. I have taken that part out and posted what I meant by it. I am not going to specifically quote everyone in my defense all I am saying is SOME of what I am reading is totally untrue.

I have a TON of customers to get back to now so as I have stated if you still have an issue - PLease contact me!

Thanks,
Jason

It was helpful, I found what I needed for a reasonable price, however, the staffing was terrible. I really feel that gathering ground did not expect a very large turn out, the staff seemed unexperienced and all in all I was disappointed with the vendor. I think allowing gathering ground to be the only vendor was a bad idea.

Figures..... :nonono:

So any bad feedback or complaint is written off as a lie?

I sure hope Pokemon USA does not work like this.

Now it comes down to both sides has no proof of it did or did not happen.
(Except we hae the bootleg game, but I doubt we will hear nothing about this or anything don about it)

I am backing out of this.
Nats was great all but those few problems.
(And the Lucario Hacked Event... I hate cheaters)

Was disappointed by GG at Origins, was disappointed by them again this year. It has nothing to do with them being the only vendor, it has everything to do with them being rude to their customers.

I *loved* the selection of random Poke-junk on the right side of the setup, and the prices were good for my purposes. The prices for modern boxes was more than fair (I couldn't find a box of RR with shipping for under $76 on ebay, and most were in the 90-100 range). I do wish that the announced buy prices had lasted the entire weekend. Professors generally just don't have the time before Sunday to sell their cards and play in the Cup and Nationals...

The customer service by three of the employees, I thought, was good to excellent, depending on how many people were in the store. Granted, I was buying $360 worth of stuff, over half of it the random junk from the right side. They gave me two boxes and a roll of tape to seal it with at the end. The forth guy was curt to rude at times.

I do wish their credit card machine had been working the entire weekend. It would've made the entire experience much more enjoyable. It was nice, though, that the ATM outside was from my own bank, so no random charges for withdrawals.

My experience with them is a solid B to B+.

Great prices on boxes and packs. Most singles were fair in price though quite a few were way over priced. I could not believe what they were offering for buying. Complete rip-off. Also one BIG thing I DIDN'T Like was that they only took cash, NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.

Well from my experiance with the vendor it wasn't so much everyone behind the counter as much as it was the person who was buying the cards (I think thats the owner, not sure though). The others were nice.

I'd would give them maybe an A for selection, and a C+ to C- for service.

Having one vendor was a horrible idea, the prices on most (not all) cards were jacked way over the top and Jason had a pretty poor attitude when I met him at the event. Nobody else mentioned that he randomly dropped the prices from his buy list towards the end of the event, despite guaranteeing those prices on this very board last week. I chose to save my stuff and sell it elsewhere, but I REALLY hope next year that we get a LOT more vendors in there. Having only GG there did NOT benefit the players other than the fact that they had a wide selection of cards/random product.

The other problem I had was not being allowed to buy cards from other players within the hall. If GG had fair buy prices they would have had no reason to restrict players being able to sell to eachother.

I didn't attend Nats so I can't say I have experience with how you guys acted, but as a business owner myself even ONE DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMER is one too many. I pride myself on keeping every customer happy and if they're not I go to extreme measures to amend the problem. With your attitude I'm not surprised there are so many people complaining about your vendor at Nats.
