Ok, the more I think about this the more I think that it could work. For the matchups I am useing ge cards, so Hurricane is useing Phione as a starter at the moment.

Lets take a look at the 3 most popular decks in the metagame.

    Magmortor. 60/40

While it's not an ato win for Hurricane or in any way an easy matchup, Hurricane usaly wins.

    G&G 55/45

Another realy hard matchup for Hurricane but once again very winable.

Blissy 50/50 (highly depends on what build they use)

Although this is a hard matchup, with Phione Hurricane should be able to beat it.

These matchups are fairly accurate, and I am realy thinking that Hurricane could be a good deck choice for states. Your thoughts?

And no, I don't need and "Hurricane is junk" posts. Those will be considerd spam, and I will ask a mod to remove them. thanks

I think G&G would consistently beat Hurricane because it can just Absol away your trainers while building up a Gardy X to Brind Down your Delcatty and Magnetons, leaving you with some Gatrs that can be taken out by some Sonic Blade/Psychic Cut combos.

Also keep in mind there really isn't a "current metagame" right now because we have a new set coming out before the next series of tournaments. For all we know, there might be a deck coming out that stops powers and stops evolving.

Can hurrican beat magsol. It's a hard match but think its in magsols favor becasuse they are getting rid of your set up while they set up magmortars.

gatr does have a favorable matchup with every deck in the deck in theory, but you have to contend with lucksack turn1 battle frontier locks and other luckbased factors than can drastically affect the matchup. The list you play with probably matters more than anything else without a good list you dont have a chance against a decent gallade deck.

um...id think that would be one of hurricane's BETTER matchups.....magmortar's weak to feraligatr....they run delcatty....so they really are the perfect counter to magsol IMO.
but, then again, magsol is way faster then hurricane.

I never have played against one that used Absol, but I did beat 4 different ones with out Absol.

With ge, Hurricane just gets stronger and faster. I was testing an Omaster TGW deck out agaisnt Hurricane with Phione, and it was sick how fast it got set up. Phione gets t1 Delcatty, and by t3 they have most every thing they could want. I got creamed and think that ge will deffinitly help Hurricane more than hurt it.

Gallantry destroies Hurricane. How is it 50/50?

All they have to do is use Phione to get t1 catty and it's over.

As for now, I would just go agro Gatr, ko the absol, try to get a partial set up on the bench and thats all I need.

Well, sadly there isn't much you can do about lucksacks.

I do agree that to beat G&G you need a very good list, and should probably use 2 Sableye cg.

Does anyone here know why no one has been playing Hurricane when it has such good matchups against the 2 most popular decks? It just dosn't make any sence to me.

    How does it destroy Hurricane?

I have found the matchup to be 55/45 in Hurricanes favor.

^ I know of several ppl that won cc's with Hurricane, but I'm just suprized at the amount of ppl complaining about G&G and Magmortor, who didn't even think of useing Hurricane.

Yeah maybe thats why nobody played hurricane. I've tested it against every magsol list ive seen and it cant beat it. Magsol was everywhere in my area durring cities. Absol dies in the next set so you probaly never will play against it. Nobody exept for a few people in my area has faith for hurricane but only one preson has used it because it's not fast enough for my area.

How does this help that matchup? Sableye really isn't that good against Gallade. Are you hoping to start with it to disable Absol?

I never saw any Magsol in my are, and not much Absol either. I can imagin if you built it to beat Absol it could, but you would need a very good build.

Any way Absol is out of the picture now, so will more ppl start useing Hurricane to beat the evil Magmortor? Or will they just complain about how they can't beat it. :nonono:

    Yes it is.

You play down 1 on the bench, disable his 2nd attack with your active one, and lol at him.

It also stops Psysic Lock, which can be deadly to Hurricane.

Gallantry does what Hurricane does, but much more effectively. Both decks are stage two, power yourself up and kill decks.

Gallantry has a much more efficiant draw engine, what with Gardevoir copying any supporter the opponent uses. While one could say that this draw engine is manipulatable by the opponent, it is not in actuality, possible. If you choose not to use specific supporters you give yourself dead draws, and fall back heavily on your set up.

Hurricane has more lines than Gallantry, Magneton, Delcatty, and Feraligatr, so Gallantry has more room for the essencial trainers, and, a very importaint factor, Furret. Furret is very shaky to use in Hurricane as a consistaint starter because of the space it takes up, and, in case you havn't noticed, decks with Furret set up more quickly than those without (refering to S2 decks, not decks like Blissey).

Gardevoir. Kills. Powers. In order to do much of anything, Hurricane NEEDS powers, or else the constaint supply of energy runs dry. You can't draw with Delcatty, you can't retrieve energy with Magneton. All you can to is use Roseanne's Research and hit for 40-60 damage if you're lucky enough to use them sequencially. Trading damage with a Gardevoir like that, is useless. Why? Gardevoir LvX. You spend your time damaging my Gardevoir, I'll just Teleport and bring up a new one. Trying that with Hurricane not only costs two energy, but is nearly futile for a well-timed Bring down.

Wager stops you from planning anything. You can think you can KO my next attacker, but with Wager shutting down your hand, you can't rely on your hand for damage. As previously said, you can;t rely on powers either. Looks like Hurricane struggles in the face of such disruption, as a Wager that has won, plus top deck, plus Delcatty + Magneton + Roseanne = 11 cards, 4 of them being energy, and 2-3 out of the remaining 7 would likely be energy. If you're lucky, I won't stop your powers, you'll win the Wager, and draw into the Roseanne + Energy that you need. IF.

All of this, and I havn't even gotten to Gallade. Gallade, if need be, and I mean specifically IF NEED BE, Gallade one shots anything for 3 energy. Hurricane can just have fun getting 7 energy, blowing them on Gallade, then I come up and stop your powers, while you don't have much/any energy left to attack with. In the case that Gallantry does not need the one shot on Feraligatr, a simple 80 Damage for one DRE with Sonic Blade does more than surve its purpose as a set up for Gardevoir.

I, at least, do want to make Huricane. Only problem is I don't have the cards.:nonono:

Yes it might be more effictive in the beginning, but it get weaker over time, while Hurricane gets stronger.

I use Sableye to counter Gardevoir, keep at least 4 nrg in the discard at all times to counter TGW, and can almost always OHKO a Gardy.

As for Gallade, he is realy your best hope agaisnt Hurricane, and his attack that can OHKO Gatrs only gets weaker over time.

And if you use Furret you are giveing me PLENTY of time to set up, and that's never good if your agaisnt Hurricane.

Luckily for you the cards arn't to hard to get off ebay, or trades.
    good luck

Thanks, DarthPika. I agree that Hurricane is a good deck, and it will only get better with Great Encounters. I also agree with DarthPika that the cards are easy to get in trades. I traded my Absol for someone's Feralagatr.

absol for gatr is a fair trade actually. Anyway I do think hurricane is a beast as long as you have a good list and you have a area that will alow you to play it.

Doesn't Blissey still roll over you like it always did? I know you think Blissey won't be used as much with G&G running around, but people will still play it, even at states.
