Yeah, taking away the Scrambles and DREs would really mix things up. Delcatty is the only other popular card. Claydol could possibly cover for it. Other than that, I don't think it would have much of an impact. I mean, sure, cards like Cessation Crystal and Crystal Beach would be gone, but they're not widely played anyway, so not much of a big deal. The trainers...you know they take alot on the metagame - Scrambles, DREs, Celios, Great Balls...

u tell me how that would shake up the format.
Without any stage two deck being able to match Magmortar's two energy per turn with DRE, Magmortar would beat all else. This would "shake" the format from two awesome decks, to one awesome deck.
Not quite. Gatr becomes amazing if there's no GG and loses nothing it can't replace in the rotation. Mag can't get rid of its weakness, so Lake Boundary + Breaking Tail = OHKO, or 4 energy (not hard).
And besides, Mag relies on Delcatty and a Firestarter for that amazing energy accel. Switching over to Lunasol or Felicity's/TVR for your discard engine is clunky and reduces your CA.
