Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

IL State Championship.

I think he said an hour, which should be plenty of time given there are so many nearby places to get some food

Chuck takes an energy 1-0 lead in the finals of Indiana against Moss. Looks like he's gunna be judging IL... OOPS! BigChoke01 :(

Well guys. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it for a few reasons...

1. I'll be at the UIC Pavillion for the FIRST Midwest Regional (Team #111 ftw!)
2. Right after #1, I'll be at Harper College, seeing Guys and Dolls (a few friends are in it)
3. I don't have a deck ready.

We are going to miss you 0

I am actually getting geared for this event!

We have a 5* lineup of judges....

Including...

Ness...Me....Colin (if he comes)...Andrew

More judges to be added.

Talk to you soon.

Vince

Oh and to confirm...

1. We have dedicated space, the annex is quite large.

2. Lunch break is for one hour...noone gets left behind.

3. The goal is to keep this thing moving...you will notice, perhaps, a lack of computers being used.

4. Cut in all 3 divisions will be, at most, a top 8 (straight off the PUI website - their requirement)

From the Site:

What is the tournament structure?

The tournament is run using the Modified Format and Swiss pairings. See the Tournament Rules for additional information about the Modified and Swiss formats. The number of Swiss rounds run will depend on total attendance at the event.

After Swiss rounds are complete, there will be a cut to single-elimination finals. The number of players to qualify for the finals will depend on the total attendance in each age bracket, with a maximum of 8 playing off in any one division.

Talk to you soon!

I just asked that question twice, and it still didn't get answered, with you, thats a third time.

Lets go for a fourth one: "Is there going to be side events for those who didn't make top cut?"

And another question, these judges are friendly right? What if I see one near at the begining on the turn and I mulligan, can I just show him my hand instead of my opponent? lol

A. There will be side events. I have to work these out with Alan, TBA - count on a draft though

B. If you find yourself in a Jynx v. Jynx battle, do me a favor and call me over right away.

C. If you mulligan you must show your opponent and give them time to look.

D. There will be side events. I have to work these out with Alan, TBA - count on a draft though.

Thanks!

Alright! Thanks for answering my question. Whats a draft? Is that were you pay like $20 and you give the participants a starter and five packs to build a deck from?

What is a draft??

OK, a draft is the REAL way to play sealed.

Each player gets 6 packs of Pokemon Cards (no don't open them yet!)

You get placed in "ideally" a 6 person pod. You open a pack, select one card, and pass the rest of the pack, getting a pack minus one card from the player next to you. Repeat until all cards gone...go to pack 2 and pass the opposite way...3...4...5..6..

Then you build a 40 card deck - with no limitations as to numbers of cards...pull 2 shinings, play 2 shinings...we actually had a deck where a kid played 20 Magma's Rhyhorns and WON.

I provide the basic energy (not dark or metal) and off you go!

That sounds like a lot of fun! Once you get it organized and all, how much do you think will be the fee to get into it?
