You must remember that Flame Bluster says it can't be used on your next turn when you use it. Broken cards is not fun. Cards are considered broken because they make the game not fun to play. Broken has started becoming a preferred adjective for describing cards that are good.

so I am thinking about buying a box ofthis stuff to stock up on the lvl x+shaymins

what are the odd ratios for japanese boxes nowadays?

I just realized that the IFDS Dusclops combos well with the SW Duskull (the one with the Reaper Cloth). It has a pretty good 1 energy attack that can cause 20 damage and hand destruction on the first turn, before Claydol comes into play. Then you can have a turn 2 Dusknoir without Rare Candy. Dusknoir will be great in the next format.

Finally Machamp gets to come back! and Machamp, not the LvX is really broken, pretend going T1 and donk, now that's what I call the next red face paint deck *Only red face paint deck I make =D*! and 2 energy and can do up to 120? and up to 180 for 4? wow!

Dusknoir will be very powerful of course, Gyarados, Steelix, and Raichu lvX. I hope Rhyperior can make it through.

My first ever event was a Power Keepers prerelease, and this is undoubtedly the most stacked set I've ever personally witnessed, followed up closely by Legends Awakened. Can't wait for the format to switch. I just can't.

Machamp will likely be an archetype. Gyarados is sweet. With 3 Magikarp in the discard, it yields a free 90 damage. Take that, bench snipers.

The more playable cards, the better.

I don't see any really unplayable cards in IFDS. Look at some of the lesser cards in the set. Misdreavus has Dusknoir's Power in attack form, and a free attack that can do up to 80. Bidoof can't be Brought Down, and has Amnesia, an undervalued attack. Abomasnow has a Buffer Piece Poke-Body, spreads damage, and can auto-paralyze on the turn it evolves. Skuntank's Power can cause disruption, and it discards Tools. Rapidash snipes 60 for two R, auto-burns, and combos with both Heatran Lv. X's body and it's power. Even Roserade (who might be the least playable card in the set,) can Auto-Poison and snipe for 30 and remove an energy. All of these cards could be used as secondary attackers in the right deck.

Very few unplayable cards in this set, if any. Creative players will be able to make competitive decks containing just about any of the cards from this set, and add that to the phenomenal LA set (almost as good as this set) to precede this one, there will be quite few options. So much so that players might stop getting their deck lists off of the internet.

I count 49 unplayable cards... guess some people are just more easily satisfied then others.
...Or more creative.

Cards often need combos to maximize their playability, along with the fact that the definition of "playability" will change with the format change, which will make quite a few more cards playable.

49 sounds like a lot. You must be counting pre-evolutions; I'm not. I mean, it's not like there are any cards like MT Slaking or Abomasnow in this set. The worst card in this set is probably Marley's Wish. Or maybe Electrode.

49 is VERY low. Its usually more like 70-80.

Obviously some cards are better than others. You can't just throw in some random 90HP Stage 1 and call it "creative" because it has a PokeBody that reduces your Retreat Cost or w/e.

49 would be low in comparison to previous sets, yes. But for this set?

By "playable" I don't mean that they can simply be thrown into a deck. By creative, I mean that such a player could incorporate almost any of these cards into a good deck. There are no cards like DP Staraptor, in this set. Clearly, TPC is trying harder to make more playable cards in each set. The more playable cards, the better, as long as there is balance, and nothing too over-the-top is printed.

The only bad cards I see are the starapter line which isn't that bad, magicarp because the other one is so much better, Charizard line which isn't that bad, drapion line, stunktank line which is fun but not that good, and rosearade which could be used. Everything else can be used in a good way.

I'm very happpy with the set, most of it is playable in one way or another, fact reamains that all cards are playable but don't have to be perse tournament winners.

Machamp X is insane, like I wished for! :D

Cheerios, and broken = fun

If you look at pokemon and other card games it's all broken, being able to draw each turn until you've got 6 cards in your hand/ being able to search what you want, being able to do it all twice or more... Pokemon just needs a lot of thinking, that doesn't mean cards are broken. It's not like one guy can use it and another can't.

Empoleon Is insane, Your opponent cannot attach any energy to their pokemon? Also the first attack is just like Scizor Ex's (UF) first attack. Lumenion will not be that good, It will be knocked out in just 2,3, or even 1 turn. Togekiss/Weavile/Tyranitar is just Broken!

Yeah, I don't like that idea at all. You may be forced to play with only 2 bench if you see that combo. Then, there is also Lumineon with Cresselia Lv.X. You could find yourself losing 2 prizes and your own Duskull you were planning to drop next turn if you see that.
