Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky

Did anyone else notice Energy Link and the fact that you have to have 2 attached for it to work, and they can only move energy between the 2 that have EL on them?

I think some form of Shaymin/Sceptile GE/Tangrowth would be pretty interesting. The thing I really like about Shaymin X is that if you can manage to get it and Sceptile early enough, a turn 2 or 3 Seed Blast (or whatever that attack is called) get you a KO and sets up your Tangrowths to start spreading. And with enough search, a turn 2 or 3 Seed Blast isn't all that hard to achieve.

Energy Link is somewhat okay, but you could get one to take damage, then have one use the energy from the other.

I like it.

Grass decks just got a shot in the arm with the new Sceptile and Tangela. In fact, this entire set is going to be a great one. The Lvl. X's (except for Machamp) are especially impressive.

In accordance with tradition, I don't think the rest of the world will get the Giratina and Shaymin cards until the set after this, however.

Hope to see these cards come Cities!

Regigagas is garbage Lv.X,it kills your own poke just to attach 2 and heal 8,I mean it seems good, but its attacks are not so good.Only 150 HP Basic I know of tho

I think it is worth it on such a high HP pokemon. After all, that gets you extremely fast damage output from the very early stages of the matchup. There was already such a scenario outlined by someone in this thread. And healing 8 keeps it alive for a very long time. It could be similar to Skittles in its "I never die" style playing. In fact, I think it is vastly superior to Ho-oh because either way your opponent takes a prize, but Sacrifice is not flippy and gets you energy.

As far as the Tangrowth/Sceptile/Shaymin Lv.X: Oh my god. You can use the new Bronzong with it along with Roseanne's Research too to stockpile 4 or more energy on a couple of the old Tangrowth at a time, and with Sceptile GE in play, do 80 or more damage to any pokemon you want using Power Whip. Energy Link works amazingly well with it too because you can just have an Energy Link on each of your Tangrowths and regulate how many energy is on the active/vulnerable one, which allows you to preserve energy for a long time. If you are going to KO a low HP pokemon and you have 6 energy on the Tangrowth you know is about to be KOed, just Link the unecessary energy back to the safe Tangrowth so that it can respond to the KO with on your next turn with 7 or more energy. There is also Dawn's Stadium, which can abuse the attachments from your hand to heal tons of damage every time you use Seed Flare. It can be absolutely fearsome; a much more durable, and in my opinion, more reliable version of Magmortar.

This set might be a tad too broken and could offset the balance of the game that is just barely returning with LA, which is a shame, because there won't really be any tournaments between the time that LA and IFDS is released.

No it's not.
Play it with sableye, go first. Attach an energy to him, and use Sableye's first attack to get a felicity's, and discard energy. T2 switch sableye with regigigas, level up, sacrifice sableye to get 2 energy, and have a T2 150 HP basic.
Giga Blaster isn't that bad either. 4 energy for 100 is okay, but discard a card from your opponent's hand without looking and discard the top card of their deck is pretty nasty.

Ahem...

Giratina from the starter deck is awesome. Like Vaporeon ex once was, a searchable disruptor? Isn't that great?

Shaymin is also better than the special condition one for some reasons IMO...

And there's Magnezone that is GODLY.

Cheers

its SEMI garbage.

I agree. Some of these cards, are, just like, WAY too good. I personally like the Machamp Lv.X, as we can now revive MARIO!!! :thumb: I also like Gengar. Think about it like this:

Absol start, and T1 Baleful Wind, hopefully with Gastly on your Bench.

Haunter has an attack where you can, (I think), look at your opponent's hand and choose 3 Supporters or Stadium cards and discard them. Use that next turn.

Gengar PWNs the next turn. MAKE SURE YOU RUN MARS!!

wouldn't it be better if you don't discard his trainers and just keep them in his hand, and then use poltegerist(or watever it is)

No, you can choose 3 Supporters/Stadiums/Trainers from your opponent's discard pile, and your opponent puts those cards back in their hand.

This word "broken" is thrown around too freely.

If they reprinted Neo Slowking in this set, but reworded it's power so that it said "Trainer, Supporter, or Stadium" card instead of "Trainer" card, and then maybe changed it's power to a Poke-Body; now THAT would be broken.

Broken =/= fun. If you don't use the aforementioned broken card(s), you'll probably lose, leading to a very monotonous boring format, similar to the current one.

I just LOVE the new Raichu.

With the MT Pika, this Pichu, MT Raichu, and this Raichu X, you have unlimited energy.

Maybe also Bronzong to get more Energy and you do an 80 snipe every turn!

Or you can use Magmortar X with Heatran to do a 100 snipe every turn.

Wow!
