I bought one from my local Target, and I'm loving the "fat pack" idea for Pokemon. This product is lacking, however, and I won't buy another if they don't add some value to it for the consumer. The deck box is a joke. It won't fit a sleeved deck, and mine was pretty thoroughly wrecked. The acrylic markers are mediocre, and have poor quality control. The dice are wonderful, and the storage box is useful. 8 packs would be great, as it is $35. It just needs something more.
I'd like to point out that the WoW card game does this with every set, and that comes with a PVC deck box, promo holo cards, and a playmat for $5 more. It has one pack less, but with the rest of those bonuses, it's well worth it. I think Pokemon would be on the right track to include a nicer Deck Box and maybe a set of sleeves.
This product would be perfect, in my opinion, if it were more like: 6 packs, Plastic Deck Box, 62 sleeves, 1 promo card. And alternate every few sets to switch the deck box or sleeves out for the dice and poison/burn markers or some other goodie. Sleeves are an important ingredient that TPCi seems to be ignoring, at least for organized play, and this would be a good opportunity to re-introduce them to the community. As it stands, this misses the mark, even if just barely. It's certainly better than some of the previous promo sets Pokemon has attempted, and I hope they build on it!
tl;dr: Could be better, but it's a good step in the right direction.
