Trust me Alann, they DON'T have to rotate anything. Sure, there will be about 14-15 sets before we say good bye to the BW series forever but having 14-15 sets isn't crowded, it's just variety, and variety is good and is something Pokemon has lacked for many years and maybe, they're making up for it. And about Megalo Cannon, going on the schedule Pokemon follows when releasing out sets, since we're getting Plasma Freeze in May, we HAVE to get Megalo Cannon in August as Pokemon follows a three month set release schedule.

If this were any other TCG I'd be inclined to agree with you, but it's not. We've already seen all too well what "variety" does to this game and it is not good. Unless Creatures specifically balances XY for use with the BW sets TPCi should tread extremely carefully.

I also am hoping this does indicate that as of the first X/Y set, we will at least mostly be having international releases for the TCG. I mean, even just being closer together would be an improvement over being so out of synch.

I also have to remember to properly congratulate the powers that be if they do this, as besides being something I would think obvious... fans have been asking for it.

As for it somehow indicating no rotation... reprints tend to imply rotation, not detract from it. The idea is that cards that were either too powerful or pure filler go away. When it comes to designing a balanced game, older filler can be dangerous, since even if the odds are low of something new "breaking" something old, it happens and if you are going to forget about something while designing a card, its older cards that never saw play.

In regards to rotation, that makes sense, I wasn't thinking about it in that way.

In regards to international release, I wonder how that will affect the meta, and more importantly trading/pricing. Since we won't know what's in the set until at least the second day of prerelease, it will be interesting to see how that changes things.

While I agree reprints imply rotation, that is only if the next set were to come out for USA as well. If this is just a 'delay' set for a worldwide TCG release, then we will not be getting this set. That would mean if they rotate, nearly this whole set is wiped out (that is unless it's NxD - on from BW stuff). I don't think they would make a set just to rotate it.

For whatever it's worth, Japan is not rotating before their Spring Battle Carnivals this year. Last year at this time they rotated to BW-on.

Actually, they went BW1-on during the 2011 Autumn Battle Carnival the year before. Which I think was the point they started the Battle Carnivals. The Spring of 2011 was also when they rotated to HGSS-on.

I just thought of this but If they do a simultaneous X & Y TCG release, that would mean that Japan could finally join our big tournaments like World Championships.

Really? Interesting. Would've sworn I saw some Gym Challenges from HS-on that year, but I'll take your word for that one.

Japan has participants in our World Championships every year, and they've won a few times in each division. They determine how to earn an invite differently, and they then play a format with less cards than their current card pool.
