League Promos for Trio Season!!!

League holo energy cards are the best!

I would expect them to be released in the usual order:

Grass
Fire
Water
Lightning
Psychic
Fighting
Dark
Metal

Yeah that as well. I would rather see that as a promo in the 2011 trainer kit as a playable card or it come with the worlds 2011 decks as a playable card and they give us league collectors and junk arms or catchers :)

yippie do dah. nrg cards as league promos? don't they already give packs of nrg out as player rewards? Is anyone else not impressed with nrg cards as promos? Not trying to be a downer, but-come on! nrg?! New players usually get plenty of regular ones out of their starter decks and seasoned players usually trade them to foil hounds. How about more useful cards like when they did uxies, claydols, roseannnes, ect..? Where is the league version pokemon collectors, junipers, or even twins? I for one am not amazed with the idea. sorry
 
Not to speculate to raise hope, but maybe this means that they're phasing out the rewards energy in favor of something else. If the "good" promo is being replaced by basic energy (which will never rotate out), then maybe we'll be getting some more awesome promos as part of player rewards. Things like Pokemon Collector, for example.

Again, there is nothing out there confirming this. We could still be getting packs of energy for tier 1, but it's not impossible.

i havent gotten player rewards in a long time
 
^^If they are sending the "good" promos as P!P rewards, then all the little kids(and the grown kids) who don't register for rewards 'miss out' on getting better stuff which would help them win more and be more likely to actually invest the time in coming back to league or registering on a website for rewards which, lets face it, don't always ship in a timely manner. I'd rather wait a year for a pack of nrg than cards I can actually use.

You are, of course, assuming that little kids are coming to league for the "good" promos. In my experience, little kids who come to league don't really care what cards they get as long as they are shiny and they're getting some kind of Pokemon. Copycat? Double Colorless Energy? Yeah, they're a waste when you can have awesome cards like shiny Tepig or Oshawatt.

Now for competitive players, yes, they are probably coming to league (when they come) to get the "good" promo cards. But they are also coming to test decks, hang out with friends, and trade for staples. These players probably already have registered for rewards, and while it would be nice to get an awesome card every league session, you don't always. Basic energy, though, will never rotate. So you are getting the same amount of energy in the year that you would normally be getting from player rewards (four of each energy).

And yes, we haven't gotten player rewards in awhile. How dare they not send us our Lucian's Assignment, Volkner's Philosophy and Cynthia's Guidance cards! Those are totally playable now that they callously rotated a bunch of cards for no better reason than we were complaining about them. I mean, it's not like they have to print out large quantities of these cards to send to people on a regular basis. /sarcasm

P!P has said that they are working on getting out Player Rewards. Yes, it would be nice if we already had them in hand, but if it's a choice between cards that are playable and cards that look pretty, I'd prefer to wait a bit longer for playable cards.

not only unregistered players also players from the Netherlands(for now), since our distributor is bankrupt.
 
If the trend continues, the promo cards will include Pokemon that the gym leader uses (or just one in their evolutionary line). A quick search on the internet shows that the gym leaders use:

Trio Badge: Lilipup, (One of the 3 elemental monkeys depending on your starter)
Basic Badge: Herdier, Watchog
Beetle Badge: Whirlipede, Dwebble, Leavanny
Bolt Badge: Emolga x2, Zebstrika
Quake Badge: Krokorok, Palpitoad, Excadrill
Jet Badge: Swoobat, Unfezant, Swanna
Icicle Badge: Vanillish, Cryogonal, Beartic
Legend Badge: Fraxure, Druddigon, Haxorus

Just got my league supplies in today and it looks like the holo energies are the black and white energies with the checkered background. : )

Sweet, that's awesome. Now I really want some of these.

Which means I have to actually go to league, I guess.
 
The energy are not really all that shiny as opposed to any of the holo energy we have gotten in the past. They still look pretty decent, though.

Have you seen them in real life? I'm going to reserve my judgment until I do, since I'm not sure scans will do justice.
