Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Make A Gengar!!!!

Hope you don't mind me posting another one. BTW, please try not to bump posts like that. It gets very annoying.

Light Gengar
(P)
100 HP
Weakness: (D)
Resistance: (F)
Retreat Cost: (C)

Poke-Power: Ghostly Protection
If Light Gengar is on your bench, your Active Pokemon is a Basic Pokemon (not a Baby Pokemon), and your opponent tries to attack your Active Pokemon, flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's turn ends without an attack. Apply only one Ghostly Protection per attack.

(P))(P)(P) Spirit Guide 50
If this attack Knocks Out the Defending Pokemon, shuffle that Pokemon and all cards attached to it into your opponent's deck. You still draw a Prize.

Gengar 100 HP
Stage 2
Evolves from Haunter

Poke-Body: Ghostly Curse
If a pokemon attacks Gengar, that pokemon is now asleep and poisoned.

P: Haunt 20
Flip a coin, if heads the defending pokemon cannot retreat next turn.

PPC: Nightmare 40
Flip a coin, if heads, the defending pokemon is now asleep, if tails, this attack does 20 more damage.

Weakness: Psychic
Resistance: Dark
Retreat: ***

I would love to see that card.

Cool, but overpowered. Just reduce the damage on the attacks and add a flip to the Body, and you're cool.

I don't really see it over-powered. Maybe the power is alittle but sandstorm has the same thing. Grwolithe, if you attack it, no flip, thered burned. Same for cacena. So I say for a stage 2, you get two status conditions.

But thats your opinion. I got to respect that. I just think that there isn't a good gengar out yet so I made my own that IMO is good and fair, considering that it is a stage 2.

Gengar {P} 90HP
{Poke-Power} Haunt
When your opponent attacks and does damage to Gengar, prevent 10 damage from that attack and place 1 damage counter on the defending pokemon.
{PC} Lick 20
Flip a coin. If heads the Defending Pokemonis now paralyzed
{PPCC} Shadow Ball 40
Select and discard an energy card attached to the defending pokemon.
Weakness-D Resistance-F Retreat Cost-CC

Gengar 90 [P]

[PP]Shadow tag
The defending pokemon is now asleep, and put a shadow tag counter on the defending pokemon,If the defending pokemon is asleep, for each shadow tag counter on it,when the defending tries to wake up,it must flip a coin more.

[PPP]nightmare
You can only use this attack if the defending pokemon is asleep
this attack does 30 damages put a nightmare counter on the defending pokemon,at the end of each turn add one damage counter for each nightmare counter on the defending pokemon,if the defending pokemon awakes discard each nightmare counter of the defending pokemon

weakness: (D)
resistance: (F)
retreat cost: (1)

Gengar
(P)
80 HP
Weakness: (D)
Resistance: (F)
Retreat Cost: (C)

Poke-Power: Energy Barrier
As long as Gengar is your Active Pokemon, no Active Pokemon can retreat without discarding an amount of Energy equal to its Retreat Cost that provides its own type (color) of Energy.

(P)(P)(P)(P) Descending Death
If, at the end of your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokemon is still your opponent's Active Pokemon, the Defending Pokemon is then Knocked Out. Gengar can't use this attack next turn.

That seems somewhat overpowered. Is it just me? I would think that you'd need more energy for an attack like Descending Death.

that is more than overpowered, it's broken. It's hugely broken. If that card were made, it would be banned in Unlimited too. In other words, way, way better than Genesis Sneasel.

There is one thing, though -- a simple retreat or Switch will short-circuit Descending Death and leave Gengar wide open. This guy would definitely be banned from Modified, though.

It's not just the attack, it's the synergy between the power and the attack. The power makes it more difficult for 2-color decks to retreat, and you're not gonna be able to play a switch every tun, but Gengar could use Descending Death every turn.

Well, when you put it that way, this guy is pretty broken. Maybe making the attack cost another (P) and adding a "can't use next turn" clause?

Another way to make it not be broken is to and the text:Gengar can't use this attack as long as it stays in play.

Or self damage might work.It would disrupt the flavor of the card, though.
