Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Mexico Nationals, hopefully LIVE updates thread!

not really Drew, any player can go NOIR and a ranking invite wil pass them bye.

Pablo, you should contact POP and find out if the Mexican nationals invites pass down.

I'm pretty sure invites ALWAYS go to LCQ... don't they?

Also... just out of curiosity, Pablo... did you play 2 RR Beedrill or just 1?

I will. It would make no sense to pass a trip because the player can't use it, but not pass an invite and let it go to waste.

2/2 beedrill line

Your wrong. If you let it pass because of event like Nationals you have to do the same for Rankings. They can't go, and they have earned an invite that they now can't use. I think that if you do it for one, that you should do it for the other. I agree that any player can, but doesn't mean they WILL.

The Invite won't pass down.
We had the same situation here in Norway. Our National Champion can't go to worlds, so the 2nd place got his trip, but the 1st place invite goes into oblivion (Or the Grinder.)

The only way invites can pass down at nationals is if a T4 from worlds last year gets an invite at nationals also, it would then pass down.

Still, great showing Pablo, go for the Grinder! :)

The situation in European countries is different than from the situation in Mexico. Since it's really difficult for Mexicans to get a visum to get into the USA, they have a set rule that you need to have a visum before the tournaments starts. If not, you can't win the trip. At least, I believe this is what the rule was last year (although I can't seem to find the information now...).

People not going because they made other plans or people not going because they really can not go because they wouldn't get into the country are two different things, IMO.

Hope you can get the invites to pass down, Pablo. It'd be great to see you in San Diego!

It could Matt, so I'm going to email POP about it, as it would make no sense to pass down a trip but still let 1st place get the invite and let it go to waste.
Coming from the organizer that get yugioh's certified jugdes for his staff rather than pokemon proffesors and apply wrongs and partial rulings...well, you get the point, don't you?
BTW im Joaquin, do you remember me? and sorry for express my indignation in your thread, sorry to hear that lost in top 32, hope that you'll go to san diego.

Ives has nothing to do with that, it is POP's call, I'm sure if it were up to him he would try to get the invites passed down so that Mexico can have a better representation at Worlds. I also lost in Top 8, not Top 32 :p.

oh, i didn't know that was POP call. But i think he would pass down the invites only to someone he likes, because giving a ruling where a machamp deals damage to a basic poke with unown g attached without further investigation seems pretty partial to me.
And for the top 32, details xD you did it well and hope you'll do your best in san diego

To top it all off, the guy who won, only lost once in the whole tournament in Round 1. Guess who he lost to? Me :(.

So you used a SP deck with no RR cards? im a little confused here. If so, why?

so what did pablo lost to? and LOL? Rampardos without any RR card into top 4? great level eh?

The 3rd place rampardos player was really unexpected, he always got t2 Rampardos on every match he had, but nothing compares to our sudden death pablo got 2 weedle 2 candies and 2 beedrill plus energy WITHOUT ANY SUPPORTER, vs my poor ralts... A NICE AND LUCKY PLAY!!
GG Pablo Hope to see you at worlds!:thumb:

You need to reread what you wrote. If Ives did that he would lose his PTO status in Mexico. He can't decide to pass the invites down to someone he "likes". Heck, some of us would never get invites then. Now if what you were trying to say was, if some of the players in the T4 were unable to go because of their VISA status and all invites (and trips if applicable) should be passed to the next people in the standings who were deserving, well then that makes sense, or at least more than what you actually wrote.

I know he can't do that, beacuase of what you just say, he would lose his PTo status. But im pretty sure that if he could do it, he will. And its a shame, i knew Ives long time ago, even worked with him and im used think of him as a great and enthusiastic guy, but heck, this time the organization of our National Championship make me wonder "man, what happened to him?" jugdes that aren't even pokemon players and a staff full of aquitances and silbings from him rather that people qualified or, at least, with basic knowledge of the game. No wonder why the pokemon community are smaller every year.

umm...is it possible that many of/all the 'qualified' judges wanted to PLAY for their own trip to worlds instead of judge? it's not unheard of in areas where there are limited judge pools, after all...
