Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

MP Birch's Texas & Oklahoma: "Gym Challenges": The Road To Worlds '06

Look for 15 to 20 players from the Houston Metro area.

Someone point me to the nearest donut shop. I must have my morning donuts.

Will there be any Birch rare-candy cookies in San Antonio?

Hey, we should get the queen of the Eguia household to bake us some cookies. According to Jose, it's not like she works all day. She's got plenty of time on her hands, once again, according to Jose.

There will not be any of Birch's "Rare Candy Cookies" at the "San Antonio~Gym Challenge". As far as the "Report Card" thingy, you do not have to make "As & Bs" to play or receive a "door prize ticket" at this event.:thumb: So, in summary, you can be dumb at school and still win at this Gym Challenge. And if you are coming to eat a bunch of "Rare Candy Cookies", I suggest that you eat before you get there. We will have no evolving of kids at this event by over eating of "Rare Candy Cookies".

Just to make sure that no one gets confused.. The "Good Student Raffle" (or the "Report Card Thingy" as Birch calls it) is for The Woodlands/Houston event -- not the San Antonio one. But Birch is correct that you don't need A/B grades to participate in the event or in the main door prize drawings (the one with the GBA systems and other cool prizes). The Good Student Raffle is a separate raffle and it offers additional tickets for each A and B grade. It's not mandatory, but if you get A/B grades, why not enter for your chance to win prizes like a sealed box of booster cards and other cool prizes? This raffle shouldn't be a problem at our event. We don't have any players that are "dumb at school".

As for the Rare Candy cookies, not to worry.... I just got my personalized email from the Shipley's VIP office. It lists all the Shipleys locations along the way (and gives directions, too). Shipley's donuts all the way! Well, at least you know I'll be in a good mood all day. See everyone there.

Hehe nice Team Cook. Well this is gonna be a great event to not miss, Heroes and Fantasies is looking to be a great place for the GC this year. Can't wait to see how everything goes, and who will win. :)

Tomorrow Begins The Adventure!!!

****Tomorrow Begins The Adventure****

Wow, finally, we will start the "Road To Worlds 2006". Tomorrow at "Heroes & Fantasies", we are starting the first Gym Challenge for Texas & Oklahoma. MP Birch has just got confirmation from "Silverleaf Resorts" that he has a condo at "Hill Country" waiting for him tonight. So, I will be leaving this evening to head that way. If you have any questions, please ask on this thread, email, or call MP Birch before 5:00pm.:thumb: Good luck to all of the players that will be attending.

Thanks.

Gonna be so much fun, and another great event that will be run by Birch. Have safe trips over here everyone and hope to cya there. Good luck to all players. :)

I am already getting nervous.
This is a HUGE tournament so I have got to bring my A game.
Look out for me there yall.
I am in 11-14 and will prolly be wearing my Hidden Legends shirt, so come and say hi or play me sometime.
I can SOMETIMES be friendly. lol jk.

What a great tournament! I had a blast. A big shout out for Double Trouble and his sis, taking 2 trips and protecting their turf! Those guys are class acts and great players. And to Alan in 15 and up in an all MS final, pulling out a fantastic win at the end. Way to go!
Elm, I owe you a game. If you make it to Houston, I'll be glad be beat you ;) Good to meet you and all the SA players. The best in TX.
Rick

Yeah I had lots of fun even though I did horrible in the tournament, always nice to meet all my buddies and to see new faces as well. Props to the Eugias winning 2 out of the 3 Age Groups, would have been sweet to see em take all 3 but will happen sometime. Thank you everyone for coming out and hope to cya again in SA and in other tournies later this year. :)

LOL Flabface, you have a real funny choice of words, since I heard that Mr. "Sweet" top cut the tournament =P

Texas, Texas...tisktisk, I'm saddened that you didn't defend the Alamo, but next week we'll just go and fetch some more. :thumb:

HEY PATRIARCH, My brother made top 4 in 15+ but came up short against LBS. Almost had an EGUIA sweep this weekend. Soooo Cloooseee. Congratulations on Allen winning the 15+. I thought he was done in that last game, but Spaz was being Spaz and came in second again. :( Sooner or later Brent will win.

Congrats to our winners. San Antonio had a good showing of 50+ players. 10- and 11-14 came down to San Antonio vs The Woodlands with SA coming out on top. In 15+ our Texas players hit the "Schell wall". If wasn't Alan, it was Chris. These two kids are GOOD. As soon as you think they're done, BAM, they've come back and beat you.

On a sadder note. This can't go without mentioning. The gaming store staff treated us like crap. I had this feeling that they didn't really want us there. We got stuck in this FILTHY back room with no AIR while other gaming kids were out front with plenty of air conditioning. We were actually told to stay in the back and not walk around in the store. To TOP it all off, we were threatened with the closure of the bathroom if we didn't keep it clean. They would close it for one hour if they had to clean up after one of the kids. We had the LAW laid down to us in a RUDE speech and were told we would be kicked out of the store for different violations. THIS WAS, BY FAR THE WORST STORE I'VE BEEN IN WHEN IT COMES TO TOURNAMENTS. The store it self was somewhat nice but the conditions we were made to put up with were horrible.

I totally agree Mr. Cook. The staff was pretty rude. All the YGO players had nice air conditioned room while we were sweating. It was fun even despite the store.
I did HORRIBLE going only 2-2 for the day. (somehow I made 8th though.)

Prof Birch,

Great event! We really enjoyed our trip to San Antonio! A real nice city to visit and our first time there.

Great staff, everyone made us feel so welcome, well the store made it a little chalenging at times, but we just let it go, and focused on having fun. I was proud of all of my kids, they did well, and it was great to be able to see Alan win the 15+. JJ sure gave all of them a run for the title, in Swiss, he beat Kathy, Chris, and Alan.

Always great to see you thanks for a great time, and looking forward to next weekend! We missed you at Popeyes, maybe next time.

Mike, Kathy, Chris, Alan, and Anna.

I had a great time at SA and the store staff was very nice and helpful to me. I did not know about any problems with them. Congratulations to all the winners.
