Nationals at the Sprint Center

Happiny13, you make a great case for next year's Nationals. It all sounds good to me, and the only thing it sounds I would dislike is if the drive from the general New Orleans area to KC is longer than the New Orleans area to Indianapolis.

However, people gave such positive reactions about Nats being in Indianapolis that I think that some people will be disappointed if Nats is moved anywhere else.

I haven't been to the KC area, so I really can't say anything more.

Finally, we get one vote! That gives us 1 out of 30 votes for it lol. Well, I think we already lost the people's choice, unless we get a few more opinions.

I like the idea of nats in Chicago. It's connected to practically everywhere by railroads, has tons of stuff to do other than nats, and has a bunch of possible venues and places to stay.

Venues that come to mind:
Navy Pier
United Center
Allstate Arena
McCormic Place
Various Hotels

You're forgetting the absolute 100% best place to run Nationals in Chicago.

Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

It's about a 3 minute train ride from O'Hare International, has AT LEAST 4 different large hotels directly across the street, parking is VERY nice, and the space is absolutely MASSIVE.

Oh, and BTW, I wouldn't want to run Nationals in a sports arena. Not enough floor space there...

I just died a little bit as a Chicago Native. Literally have never heard of this place before.

Anyway... I put the arenas there because I thought they might be big enough. Navy Pier has Huge rooms that could easily fit a crowd like the 2010 nats, and McCormick Place hosts the Midwest convention every year so that could be big enough.

Might wanna check it out. They hold Wizard World Chicago every year. Massive place.

Chicago is cost-prohibitive for TPC. Thank you, union labor. Chicago would be a fantastic city if it didn't cost a million bucks to hold any sort of convention there.

Why would anyone want to go to Kansas?

Please do not confuse Kansas City with the other 98% of the state. It's like saying California is just a big desert with some mountains on one side.

Anyway, as someone who actually lives in Kansas City, I would not take downtown as a choice for Nationals. Our downtown has similar issues to St. Louis, and we all remember how well that went. Our issues are not quite as bad, but they are still there.

If Nationals was going to come to Kansas City (and there is a distinct possibility of that, folks -- rumor has it that TPC may not be able to get Indy next year), it should be on the south side in Overland Park. This is a great suburban area, consistently rated in the top 25 cities in the USA on many different scales. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants in every price range nearby the convention center, along with parks and other attractions just a short drive away.

That said, I'm still hoping for a repeat of Indy. I don't think you can find a more perfect host city.

How about the South for once? Nats has been in the Midwest/North Central forever. Worlds has been East Coast or West Coast... The South has YET to have a Nats or Worlds and we always have one of the LARGEST Regionals. So why does the south always get shunned?

I vote Arlington Texas, same place as the Super Bole (So not to get into trouble with the NFL) this Year which will prove that Texas is truly the BEST at Events!

Why cant Canadians play at US nats? Both Canadian and US nats should be open.

because the canadaians would be mad when the US smacks up their nats in all three divisions lol.

jk cause it wouldn't be nats it would be continentals and then mexico would have to be involved.

also i favor chicago, not only cause i live here, SOUTH SIDE REPRESENT, but seriously we have everything Nats could ever need.

Central is overrated.

If the West Coast is going to get Worlds every year, rotate Nationals through Indy, Baltimore, and Texas.

Agreed... however not economical from a business stand point. And whether we like it or not, Pokemon is a Business First!

I'd rather they keep it in Indy.

Less travel that way for me. :)

The reason they hold Nationals in Midwest is because majority of the players are from the midwest.
