where is this 'july 3, st. louis' "info" coming from? =/ if you can't cite an official source within TPCi, then PLEASE don't give out 'facts' like this!

'mom

I took it as he thinks that's St. Louis' date, and knows that Toronto's date, why he said think/know, but maybe that's just me

There is a reason why this is in "News and Gossip Discussion", as that is what we are doing. We are just having some fun while we wait for the "Official Announcement". Obviously, in your haste to comment, you missed the words think and probably in my post.:nonono:

Haste to comment? More like your fail at targeting the events with the adjectives properly.

You shouldn't attach both think and know to the same phrase and expect to get away with it when it comes to stuff like this.

Mystery Thing, obviously you are friends with sd...mom. I did not fail at anything. Most people who are reading objectively would understand that I am combining conjecture with fact and I think my post makes it clear which is which. I am not interested in a fight, only in providng more information to the other people who are posting in this thread. It is interesting to note that the negative comments and complaints about my post come from older people who think they know better and consider themselves to be in some position of, self-annointed, authority. Just relax and have fun, that is what this game is all about.

You claimed that you both knew and think that both Nationals are on the same date. Is that what you meant? Well obviously not, but if you reread what you said, you said you "think/know" (emphasis mine) and then stated, AS FACT, that both will be on that weekend.

What you obviously meant, but did ~not~ say, was that you know Canadian Nats is that weekend, and think US Nats is the same weekend. And if you DID mean that entire thing as fact, then 'mom's point is entirely validated.

You are incorrect. What I said and what I meant are the same thing. I stand by my post and now we should just wait for the official announcement

And I stand by my claim that you're wrong. Had you simply tacked a "probably" in front of the US date or just made it two separate sentences, this wouldn't be a problem.

Note that I'm not saying your information is wrong; I have no clue whether it is or isn't. But how you phrased it was at best unclear and at worst flat out incorrect, unless you ARE claiming as fact that both will be that weekend. In which case, once again, 'mom's point is completely valid. Now, to be fair, is it possible to read it both ways? Yeah, I can see how both sides of the coin could be done. But the way you worded it was absolutely not clear about any division of what you are claiming to think and what you are claiming to know.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time that US Nats was scheduled on the 4th of July weekend. It happened at Origins a few years ago.

It would be awesome if Nats didn't conflict with Milwaukee, WI's Summerfest this year. Largest music festival in the world or Pokemon Nationals? Its actually quite a toss-up.

Oooh, I totally forgot about that. A few of us stood on the walkway between the convention center and the hotel across the road to watched the fireworks. It was my first July 4th in the states, so it was sorta cool :)

I've actually started playing yugioh again based upon how rediculous it is that we know absolutely nothing about the invite system or nats. I've lost my interest in competitively playing the game simply because of the lack of this information being disclosed.

I mean, COME ON. It's mid January. When are we gonna find out how we get to worlds? The week before?

Maybe the week AFTER worlds occurs we find out who qualified, only to realize it's too late to participate. Awesome.

WHEN, WHAT, WHERE

WHEN is the only information that working folks need to know at this time. Work schedules are needed to be locked in in early in the calendar year for vacations so that other vacations and work meetings don't conflict. The earlier you have your vacation planned, the better the chance you can take those days off.

WHERE, and WHAT is something we can respond too in decent time frame to make travel and hotel arrangements. I didn't make my travel arrangements until after regionals last few years.

Only if Pokemon is negotiating between two different venues on two different dates does it make sense not to give the date information.

At this point, I am treating the July 3rd Data as the in the known rumor with a 75% chance of being correct, I have to act upon it, for my WORK schedule. The exact Location would be nice to know, BUT THE DATES ARE NEEDED.

I really really really really really really hope that it's not on July 3rd...

Heck with it, I'm going to call July 4th in Alaska. Just watch as I'm right. :p

I'm calling the last week of June, since last year-they continued to have it on the same date as Origins. (I hate that they left but nothing I can do) Last I checked, Origins didn't have an exact date either and you have to book the day after the last Origins to get a room. o_O If they were to go back to Origins...then all poke players will have trouble getting rooms because they are all booked as of now. (No kidding) But it looks like since they moved from Orgins, they are keeping the same dates as them. (Which stinks because I go to Origins or I have to pick between the two *shakes fist*)

Origins is June 23rd-27th. I would expect Nats to be that same weekend.
