Yeah, i think that the main outrage comes over it being a card effect we already have. If it had almost no use, but a new effect, it could have a niche at some point in time, or just be worth inclusion for a different effect. Victory Medal was never broken. But it was an alright card. I'd much rather have ti back.

And for those saying "But i though we all complained about World's promo card." There is a VAST difference between accesibility of a World's promo and a battle road's promo for the top THREE finishers. There's 9 an event, that no one can possibly get more than one of at a time. Contrast to world's a one time event where single players got multiple copies of the card.

Also consider it didn't have to be as playable as Tropical Beach. It could've just been more playable than Pokeball. There's a large gap between the two.
 
Things that are good:
Top 3 receiving them.
Art.
Things that are bad:
It has the same text as Pokeball
Whoever finishes fourth is getting screwed from resistance, which stinks, because they still Top Cut.
No more Victory Medals, which was finally becoming playable.
 
I have multiple thoughts on this.

I'm happy that they are giving promo cards for T3 of BRs. It's a great thing to see. I would like to see them do this for Cities, States, and Regionals as well. That would make me quite happy. I LOVE that it's a black star promo. That's really nice to see. Victory Medal should have been, but never was.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that it is a reprint of the effect of Pokeball, but I can deal with it, if it means that they will expand on this.

This DEFINITELY will, when the BW sets rotate out in a couple of years

whether victory medal will or not is not known at this time, and won't be known until september next year at the earliest probably
 
anyone get any of these or have better scans that actually show the whole card?

i got second today but they didn't have the promos. lol.


i just want to see what im getting eventually
 
They are actually valued at $35 (for first).

WARNING: THIS CANNOT BE UNSEEN:

There is a Zekrom and Reshiram in the first place card but not the 2nd or 3rd place cards.
 
Yeah I just saw that. I meant I think 3rd place will be $5.00.

Nevermind I just saw that 3rd was sold for $35 on ebay.
 
current pricings wouldn't be great, as the card has been around for about 2 days, meaning early sales will have inflated prices.

give it a couple of weeks and it will settle down, and most likely be considerably cheaper
 
I saw a first place go for 32.00.....35 for 3rd is not worth it (especially for a pokeball) But I would agree, all new cards prices are a little high. But, should anyone be looking to get rid of theirs or knows someone... feel free to point me in the right direction ;)

As for promos I would like to point out that there aren't any Super Rare cards out of BW and EP aside from Full Arts, so I would imagine it a little difficult for them to print a good promo that isn't already easy to come across.

Using that same logic, is it fair to those that started playing after BR that the winner gets packs for winning? Doesn't that give them some unfair advantage? And, should the players that started playing before they guys that pick up after BR be allowed to use the cards they bought before BR? Because, its unfair that the guys playing before BR's have thousands of cards to make their decks from but the new guys have a starter deck and a tin....or, at least, according to your logic.

I think it goes without saying that those that start later will ALWAYS be at a disadvantage. And, as for those that "constantly win," I also think it goes without saying that those players will "constantly win" reguardless of the good promos they have since the will always be investing more money and winning more packs than the casual player.

But, for what its worth, I'm not saying it has to be some insanely good card...how about the print some thing that is PLAYABLE. I would LOVE to see something like Full Art Rare Candy that is a solid foil color depending on what place you get (gold, silver, bronze). Even other highly competitive "meta" cards in that format, like Catcher, Collector, or even other common reprints, like Switch and Plus Power. Call me crazy, but even if the Promo's where something we already had, but where highly sought after cards, especially common reprints that will be playable forever but only come around once or twice to win, players would LOVE those types of promos, I know I would.
 
^ I don't normally weigh in on stuff like this, but spazcrackers is very honest and probably one of the kindest guys you could ever hope to meet. I can guarantee he would never scam anybody. You really shouldn't slander people.

Second Place is now up (properly) as well.

He's describing it accurately. Not promising any kind of super-rare card.
If people want to pay that much for the card, well, bless their little hearts.
