You missed out on the kicker @128 players.

We just have to get used to the fact that BRs don't have a top cut any more. Deciding the winner by Swiss doesn't seem a massive injustice compared to the old top 4 system.

not many things are "massive injustices". It's still a negative, and something that shouldn't have been implemented.
 
I don't see it as being negative or positive.

BRs are just different now. Whoever tops the swiss in a 100+ player tourney deserves the 15 points.
 
Of course everyone wants to win, but for the Worlds invite-minded person, it's all about finishing high - not necessarily "winning."

Still amazing, though. That kinda attendance is monstrous.
 
Under the old system you could X-0 a 100 player BR, then lose in Top 4 and get no CPs.

In some ways, this system in better. I think Swiss is just as good a way of finding the best player as a top 4.
 
So I'm curious, did you like run enough rounds (based off 108, that'd be what, 7 or 8?) to the point there were 2 undefeated that were paired then to determine the winner by the computer? Or did you end up running like 5 rounds or so and then had a couple of X-0 people that the computer then determined the order based on the usual hateful metrics like opponent's win loss % and such?

That is absolutely spectacular.

It tells me that the new CP distribution has shown a beam of hope into this game.

It means that people are optimistic about the future of this game.

This is exciting. Spectacular. I can't WAIT for BRs to start this week.

Wow, 108 players in Masters, your local Tournament Organizers and League Leaders need to be commended for their commitment to growing the game and encouraging their players to attend events.

How many players were there in Juniors and Seniors?

no thats not true if you got over 32 player places 3-4 would get 1 CP i had a few brs last spring that i went X-0 in swiss and either left early or lost in top 4 and stillgot 1 CP each
 
tournament organizer for this tournament here.

final stats were
108ma
18sr
9jr

135 total

this hasnt been the first time we get insane numbers at this location.
last yrs battleroad fall had 117
cities had 124
spring was small but usually is the case with many already prepping for nxt format and not attending big events (nats/worlds) but we had a modest 70

diff was this was first time we broke the 100 master barrier.
there was a chance we might have had 128+ masters (8 rnds/top 32 kicker) even. i had pre-reg'd 93 players total, and took on like 70 onsite signups but had 25 no shows all of which were masters from pre-reg. soo close...xD

maybe during cities....
