Hey everyone!

This is Jonathon from TrollandToad.com, and the awesome people here at PokeGym gave us permission to start up a thread for anyone curious about what we'll be offering at nationals, answering any questions you may have about what we'll be offering at the tournament, our giveaway that was already mentioned in another thread here, and whatever else I can help you with!

So again thanks to everyone here at PokeGym for their hospitality.

Now at nationals we'll be focusing on both buying and selling cards for the most part. Our team of Pokemon specialist will be on hand to quickly take care of any orders you may want to make with us as well as answer any questions you may have. No order will be too big or too small, so if you want to sell or buy a single card or a whole collection, we will be able to assist you.

So if you have any questions just post them here!
 
WOOTCHAW!!! Awesome to see you guys make it here after that fantastic job at Regionals! Also, good of you to not make me look like an idiot in front of my entire league :tongue:

1. What will be your buying rates for Nationals? The same as what's printed on your website? Will you differentiate between the rarities of older cards like you did at Regionals?

2. What kinds of "other" stuff will you have available? I'm assuming you'll have the usual card supplies (sleeves, dice, deckboxes, playmats, etc.). Will you also be having toys and games and other Pokemon related but not TCG related stuff? If so, what kinds of prices should we expect for those?

3. When will you be open? Weekend only? Friday? Thursday (PLEASE!!!)?

4. What kinds of payments will you accept onsite? Cash only? Check? Credit? Debit?

It's awesome to be going, and thanks for such warm praise!

To answer your questions..

1. It will vary depending on rarity, the number cards, and other factors. I spoke to our Pokemon specialist and he said that it may be different than our printed buylist on our website depending on all the usual supply/demand and such.

2. We will have all the usual card supplies as you mentioned, but the extra goodies we're bringing are video games, plush toys, and other small toys.

3. Our schedule is we will officially "open" at 4pm Thursday and stay open until 8pm. That Friday we'll be open from 8am - 7pm, Saturday at 8am - 7pm, and finally on Sunday we'll be open from 8am - 4pm. So yes we'll be open on Thursday for you =).

4. We will accept all of those as forms of payment
 
I'm talking specifically about bulk buying. Commons/uncommons, that kind of stuff.
 
It will be similar to our printed buylist rates for bulk, but as of today I don't have a set amount. I would recommend using our buylist as just a guide and then talk to the specialists about your buy at Nationals.
 
Will your bonus trade-in values also apply? I've got a LOT of bulk to get rid of! And when you mean alphabetically, do you mean by card name and/or rarity? Do you want cards sorted like...

Abra (Uncommon) -Aron (Common) -Beautifly (Holo) - etc.

OR

Aron (Common) - Chatot (Common) - Delibird (Common)
Abra (Uncommon) - Breloom (Uncommon) - Celio's Netowork (Uncommon)
Beautifly (Holo) - Driftblim (Holo) - Gardevoir (Holo)

OR

Commons/Uncommons - Reverse Holo Commons/Uncommons - Promos - Rares - Holos

Just some sort of clarification would be nice. Thank you!

PS - What do you plan on having for non-card merchandise? Will you have Pokemon-related deckboxes? Plushies? Books? Etc.? ...nevermind - answered above.
 
Are you interested in buying any Prof Playmats or prof sleaves? I have a couple of each that are sealed.

The trade-in bonuses values do apply! As by what we mean alphabetically, the best way to do it is simply make all your first editions/reverse foils in alphabetical order in one stack and your commons/uncommons/rares in a separate stack in alphabetical order.

To be entered into the giveaway, we'll have a booth set up where everyone can sign up at this years Nationals. A winner will be picked by either one of our staff or someone representing Nationals as a whole. The winner will receive "a free, all expenses paid entry into the 2011 Pokemon National Tournament, including round trip airfare, 3 nights accommodations, and a paid entry fee.(Valued at $1000). The giveaway will be held immediately following the conclusion of the Championship. The winner need not be present to receive his prize."

We're interested in buying ANYTHING Pokemon related! So bring whatever you want to sale! And we looking forward to seeing all of you!
 
This is great news. Couple of questions:

1. When you buy do you payout in cash? Or do you cut checks?

2. Do your bulk buy rates go down throughout the weekend? Specifically, if I want your best rates do I need to sell on Thursday? Or do the bulk rates remain constant?
 
I hate it how everyone's happy with Troll and Toad. I've been a long-time customer(Naruto cards). But just recently I ended up ordering 3 Reverse Holo Infernape 4's and a Infernape 4 Lv X. It was cheap 18.00 all together. All ready to play LuxApe for BR's. I get a package in the mail a few days later. I open it, it was yugioh cards. It was an almost complete Dark World deck minus the Allure and the DAD(If anyone cares). I looked through it for the cards if they were just hidden. Nope. I tell my mom and she calls them. They say sorry and ask her to ship the cards back so we did. After a week I get another package in the mail. It was just 3 Reverse Infernape 4's. It turned out that they sent an email saying they were out of Stock for iNfernape 4 LV X. They had THREE when I ordered mine! Really? I'm not sayings it all their fault it was some of my stupidity of not reading the email. Any way just my two cents.
 
Well, considering you had to wait an additional week, it's all in likelihood something got mixed up and they sold what they thought was a spare Infernape Lv X as well as the other 2. Guess you weren't the only one interested in Infernape Lv X lol.
 
Nugget - you need to chill out, vendors make mistakes. Everyones human. In my 10+ orders with them and one massive sell to them, Ive never had an issue. They even called me one time regarding my order to make sure I knew my stuff was received. Who else does that? I used to shop a lot of places, but now I just stick to T&T--and I am ecstatic that they are the nats vendor. I guarantee 99% of all players who buy or sell will enjoy their customer service.
 
No, sorry we do not purchase Japanese cards.

We pay in cash!

Our bulk rates are pretty stable and I don't foresee them changing over the course of a few days. However they ARE subject to change.
