Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Official Wrestlemania 23 Discussion Thread **Updated Again**

yea but edge's streak is nothing compared to the dead one's. IMO Orton should win cause he is too talented not to be the champ. There is no special match this year. No appealing one other then just 2. Imo this card is still pretty eh

hmm, but consider the fact that Ortan has alot of backstage attitude problems, ones that prevented him from winning the title at mania 22. I think Edge has to win since he is the only superstar that has a realistic chance to win the match and has not been losing lately. It would be kind of bad if either Ortan or Mr. Kennedy went over since they have both lost recently.

Yea last year when taker didnt wanna lose his streak orton got into a real fist right with in backstage o_0

He definitely has problems back stage but he still has more talent in his right toe then John Cena will ever have and Cena is the WWE champ. I still hate what they did with that title....

Well, even though you said jk, I think i'll point out to you that just because something is "scripted" does'nt make it fake. Sure, wrestling is "sports entertainment". It is scripted, but that does'nt make it any less real. When you hit the mat, that hurts, when you fall through a table, it hurts, when you fall of a ladder, it hurts. And the reason why: all the bumps they take are real. The fact that the outcome is pre-determined does'nt mean that every thing about wrestling is fake. Wrestling , like any other sport, has a large amount of skill involved, and it would be wrong to over look that because you think wrestling is "fake".

yea, that is true brendan. I used to do the "scripted wrestling" losing my title in a ladder match. Guess what... IT HURT when i landed.

Anyways, im actually gonna bet SCSA stuns both McMahon and Trump.

Go Rattlesnake!!!

That would be pretty awesome, I can't really see Trump agreeing to have his head shaved, but it would be cool to see him take the stunner.

My Predictions
Taker over Batista, Batista is not the right guy to end Taker's WM Streak

Michaels over Cena, Time for Cena to drop the title

Kennedy in $ITB, Kennedy is already being groommed for Championship Status, and is the future of Smackdown, Taker won't be around much longer, and Batista is injury prone.

Bobby Lashey w/Trump over Umaga w/McMahon. I really don't see Trump agreeing to have his head shaved, but McMahon would!

I could see Ashley beating Melina for the Womens title, but who cares.

New Breed over ECW Originials. Say good bye to the Originials after this match, except RVD.

Kane over Kahli, would someone please take Kahli off of my TV!

MVP over Benoit. MVP is also the future of Smackdown.

Sorry, You are right. When I watch it though it just seems sooo corny. Ok, its not all fake but I still don't understand the "skill" involved.

P.S. I'm not trying to pick a fight, just wondering.

Well, since it is "scripted", the skill involves being able to take moves properly, if you don't know how to take a bump, then you'll get hurt. All of the areal stuff and mat wrestling is also very difficult. You need to be a able to "get over" with the fans, or if your a heel you need to generate effective heat. You need to be able to sell moves, to make them believable. And you need to be in good shape to do it.

The skill is watching these guys do some insane acrobatics and not get hurt from it. They really sell the personalities too, but once you realize that the whole thing is just a show, it loses all of that fire. I dunno. I have more fun watching guys like Jeff Hardy or RVD do a crazy backflip than watch some idiot like Kali lift someone.

^ i agree i personally think they should bring back the hardcore title. i like crazy jump of top rope to put someone through announce table while holding a chair.

Ok, you mean like acting, with a phisical component involved. I see. Hey, what do you think the percentage of pro wrestlers are on roids?

Actually, the WWE currently has a testing program in place that has in turn caught a few high profile names over the past couple years or so (something that couldn't be said during the Attitude era, or the early 2000s). Test and Randy Orton are 2 names that come to mind that have failed before, and I think Joey Mercury had some non-roids problems (which is why he was gone for such a long time toward the end of last year).

Also, I'll take a good old-school Cruiserweight match w/ Rey Mysterio over a hardcore match any day of the week, as his speed and agility are amazing. Its too bad Rey will miss WM this year.

peace

well its a shame that rey was one of 10 people from wrestling named that ordered HGH from that website that got raided:
SI.com only released the names of big stars such as:
Rey Mysterio
Edge
Randy Orton and from SI.com about Orton
"who allegedly received eight prescriptions for six different drugs -- stanozolol, nandrolone, anastrozole, Clomiphene citrate, oxandrolone and testosterone -- between March 2004 and August 2004."
Shane Helms
Eddie Guerrero
Kurt Angle

yeah..it also makes me wonder if these guys were ordering the stuff to help heal from injuries (which wresters seem to be fighting constantly).

Well, Edge said as much on his m y space page.

WWE has also released a statement about the SI article:

WWE said:
A Statement From World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.
March 19, 2007

All of the allegations set forth in a recent SI.com article mentioning WWE predate the initiation of WWE’s current Talent Wellness Program. This WWE program prohibits the use of performance enhancing drugs, as well as other prescription drugs which can be abused, if taken for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician. For purposes of WWE's policy, prescriptions obtained over the Internet and/or from suppliers of prescription drugs from the Internet are not considered to have been given for a legitimate medical purpose.
