Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Oklahoma state championships

I might end up being the only one from Arkansas to be there unless some Hot Springs people show up.

Yep. Because out of all FOUR bands at our school, MINE'S the only one going to concert contest, with our director booking for us the 8 PM time slot. Not workable with a 4 hour drive to OKC.

I'm calling you wrong then. What good players does N TX even have?

Kettler, Meier, Fields, and Hilliard are the best in TX. Garcia's pretty good too. I don't think ANY of them are from N TX.

I havene;t been to there house, but I think the Kettler brothers are form North Texas. And the other guys too.

Lets not squabble over whter or not Texas, or Norht Texas, or Oklahoma is the best, lets just all agree that those interloopers from Kansas and Arkansaw are gonna be sent home with their tails between there legs.

Will anyone from the TX area being staying at the hotel itself and have a room on Sat? I have a favor to ask, no it's not about rooming, just wondering if we could store something in your room if needed.

Please pm me- thanks

I'm sure you'll do a great job Old Man!

Can't wait to see all the OK players! :)

Aww, I'm not on there? ;P

Even having been a Texas native most of my life, I'm going to have to side with Austin on this one and say (within our power) we plan to keep it in Oklahoma this year. That being said I am expecting some pretty tough competition this year. Especially since this year I may actually present a challenge to some of you :]
P.S. Amphachu is a very strong player, be ready to eat some of your words when you lose to an Arky lol.

Texas players - Don't underestimate the Arkansas players. They have really picked up their game.
And vica-versa as well. From what I hear there are some chicken Tulsa players that are going to Kansas so they won't have to face any Texans!

Was hoping the Tulsa players with the yugioh cards to trade were going to be there. Yeah that's right I said it. Don't hate. Just be ready for Abby and her Girl Scout cookies. Thin Mint and those Carmel Delights.

Team YANKEE gonna show the south how its DONE!!! Now that I've covered the prerequisite trash talk, what do you guys think the feild will look like for mstrs, srs, jrs? And why is it anathema to ask what someone is playing? In no other game I've played has there been so much secrecy around deck-choice. I'm not even refering to cardlists, I just mean "what are you playing?"

If I tell you what I am playing, then you will alter your play. Fo rexample, a key part of the MIME JR. deck startagy I am playing at OKLAHOMA is Palkia X. I need people to load up there bench and then I lost zone them with Palkia X. But if they know I am playing Palkia X, they will not load up there bench. I would have to be an idiot to let it slip out what deck I am playing.

So the strategy is to get a suprise palkia trigger once? I see the need to keep that secret but I'm not refering to individual card choices, or even asking the player in front of you. I'm just refering to the question being asked in general. For instance, I played another tcg that had a "pro tour". In that game the decklists for t8 (or more for some events) at a given event become public knowledge after the event. I'm not trying to sound critical of P!P or whoever it is, I'm just looking to understand the nuances of upper level pokemon play. My brother has made a t8 and a t4 at our last 2 CCs and I won my first tourney the other day. We are trying to step up our game so any insight is helpful. It just seems that with more public knowledge there would be less of an elitist approach and players would find it easier to get better. It would also force new strategy to constantly evolve and lessen the "Stale Format" credo that seems to be popular. All of this is only my opinion and I'm sure there are valid counterpoints, yet still I feel the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

As a sidenote- If your opponent sees a mime jr early on, wouldn't they tend to know somewhat what to expect?

Team Shuriken all the way!! :p

Oh and DeMarcus. If you do wear Long Horns clothes I will laugh...
