Osama Binladin

Last thing Americans need is am ego boost...

Actually, it's EXACTLY what we need right now.
A lot a people in America just don't care anymore.
Don't care about our troops, don't care about our leaders, don't care about the policies that get passed, and don't care about anything that doesn't directly affect them.

A lot of people in America don't like America and don't respect it, or the people (not person) leading it. Our economy is doing less then stellar, and a lot of things are going wrong.

This is exactly what America needs, not an ego boost, but a morale booster.

Thanks to people like him we had to get wrapped up in some crazy war on a non-centralized enemy, and it's gotten us into so much conflict with not much to show for it. Now, we all have something we finally can see as an actual victory. After all the garbage we've had to put up with the past decade we deserve to celebrate.

Precisely. That's part of the reason why most Islamic scholars agree that you ought to learn Arabic before translating the Qu'ran - it's just that dag-darn hard to get 100% right in another language!

Also, one good point of discussion: what's everybody's opinion of all the partying and cheering in the streets?

to be absolutely frank, it looks no different (from an outsider's perspective) than footage of the same type of cheering captured from 'their' media outlets that outrages 'us' when rebroadcast here...

Same thing with the New Testament. Theology students learn classical Greek in order to read it properly.

Example: Many translations give one of the Commandments as "Thou Shalt not Kill" when the meaning is closer to "Don't Murder".
Makes a big difference.

It's just something people forgot about. I see America as a land of broken promises and dreams. Instead of using time and money to fix what needed to be fixed, they use it to fund the search of a man most people forgot about then I hear Obama bragging that we found and killed him. I mean really.

Of cource you American fan boys are going to whiteknight what ever they do but 10 years later. It seems like something they could have done a lot sooner if they cared. Its just something Americans can brag about.

'Oh, you mess with us, we kill you'

Vaporeon, at this point, I honestly think you are a troll.

I don't care how radical you are, you cannot just say "oh, this guy organized the killing of 3000 people in 9/11, let's not do anything to him". What if all of your close friends died in that? Your family? You?

I am incredibly happy that this horrible man is dead. And most people forgot about him? HA. Go talk to victims of 9/11 or family with injured or killed soldiers against Osama's army.

And BRAGGING RIGHTS??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

If I killed a mass murderer, the last thing I'd be concerned about is bragging rights. Most people would have liked to have killed him because of how much they hated him. It's not bragging rights; it's knowing that you killed a man who killed your family, friends, or anyone else you know or admire.

I'm sure there are people on this website that have been influenced by the death or injury of people in the attack. I personally wasn't, but to have someone be killed by a radical like Bin Laden will OBVIOUSLY make you want to exert revenge.

I might be Christian, but I still care about the people that died.

God encouraged wars in the Old Testament and helped many people win different wars. However, He still encouraged so many wars...

Besides, it's not like all Christians are alike...
