It's funny how the only way to make this horrible set look even somewhat decent is by putting emphasis on a card that does something most people already hate -- donking.

Ever since I read the translation for the Black/White Zekrom, I knew that Pachirisu would have a future in the TCG. Pokemon Collector for Pachi, Shaymin, and Zekrom for 120 damage turn 1, anyone?
As for right now, Pachirisu is interesting, but whatever deck is goes in won't be of great competitive material for States and such due to SP decks (Powerspray, anyone?). Raichu prime, while an attractive option with Pachi, is too slow (being an evolution hurts the speed right there) and is DEFINATELY TOO COSTLY. That's the kicker. If you didn't have to discard for Thunderbolt, it would actually be good (and maybe broken).
Bottom line, poor Pachi won't get much competitive love in the current format, but once the SP engine is gone (along with whatever remnants of power-locking that live with it such as Mespirit and the very scarcely-used Glaceon Lv X) and the BW set comes out, Pachi will see a jump in play fequency w/ Shaymin + Zekrom. Hang on to your copies for now, or try to get them from other players while they're still willing to let them go for so little.

Right...and considering many other decks have donk potential like Machamp, heck even LuxChomp can donk, you're saying not to run an arguably harder combo to donk?

This thread is about Pachirisu's effectiveness, not the fact that CL is an absolute mockery of the logic of game design. 
I don't believe Shaymin is a requirement here, and I am in the camp that Magnezone Prime IS the way to go for abusing Pachirisu. You have okay donk potential backed up by a fast, powerful offence that in my opinion not only rivals Gyarados, but kicks it to the curb.
Why I say okay donk potential is that Pachi's power can't be activated when you start it (see pixies, crobat G, etc) so you not only need something else to start, you need a way to get it out of active, and the energy for Pachi to get the donk. Sure, no-trainer donks are POSSIBLE here (Crobat G starts, 3 energy starts, etc), but they're not that consistent. Pachi donk is not anywhere NEAR as potentially viable as Sable Donk.
Pachi donk says "if I get a god draw I donk up to 50hp going first". Sable donk says "on most draws, I go first and donk 40hp, 50hp on a special dark".
Pachi is a donk threat and a source of energy drops in Magnezone, and a possible replacement for Regirock. The thing about Regirock, however, is that it cycles your deck MUCH faster with Magnezone's power, because you can unload any card (to discard) rather than just energy (to play), and you can do it every turn instead of once.
The big problem with an energy heavy deck - ANY energy heavy deck, be it fire (anything running ninetales/typhlosion engine), or rain dance, or this, is consistency. Without Roseanne's you really need extra energy to make those drops, which reduces pokemon consistency and takes away slots. If there's a way to pull energy out of the deck (to discard, to hand) OTHER than energy search, it may make things more viable. Heck, maybe we should make this the Energy Strategy thread.

ok, im lost how the this ish works!!!!!!! u should play Rayquaza an flip coins to get lightning back 0.o...no Rescue energy,Just cause it brings your rat back doesnt mean its needed,plus the rat Discards it when it swings...u should run DCE, Cause after recharge u can swing with pika for 100 0.o Ish is amazing right

I'll just point out, even though other people probably have, that one decent card doesn't make the set any less useless. Heck, it already has Lost World, which will be a meta centerpiece, and I still think it's awful. One other halfway okay card won't change my opinion of the set as a whole.
