Pokemons Power 9
(It dose include reprints but they are just that powerful)
Not in Order

Gust of wind (idk why they are reprinting it)

slowking (stupid translation problem)

computer search (Just good)

Proffesor Oak (the trainer one)

Sableye (Going first and getting to make sure you set up first and better)

Lass (Beats alot of the cards on this list)

DCE (still broken)

energy removal (cant wait till they reprint energy removal 2)

Super energy removal (it has super in it so it must be better then normal energy removal)

The funny thing about this list is that 2 of the cards are in out format right now and we will get probably the most broken one back in a set or 2
Its like if magic reprinted black lotus.
Other cards like claydol or cleffa or almost anything els didn't make you go crazy when they used it agains you.
You always go "wow they used (name of power 9 card) agains me"
Claydol and others are fair, really good but nobody felt like it was OP"prob because claydol was in the time of power lock.

People also say the power nine must be of cards that were made way too good and will never be reprinted again, well a few of the cards that are on here have/will be repringed, they still are the best cards ever and they will dominate the formats they are in, it probably wasn't the best idea for pokemon to reprint the same version of it.

Energy Removal

Super Energy Removal

Scoop Up

Professor Oak

Computer Search

Team Rocket's Trap

Rocket's Sneak Attack

Imposter Professor Oak's Revenge

Lass

The entire Trapper combo was degenerate and atrocious for the game. All 3 pieces would be a disaster in any of the current formats. Think Judge, Wager, Admin, Giratina are bad? Imagine a one sided one, that isn't even a supporter. Yeah, that card is downright degenerate.

Focus Band is a good contender. Cleffa...NG MIGHT be...its good but at the same time, we have the new cleffa, and chatot, and similar cards, and honestly, the 30 HP DOES hinder it. Probably wouldn't have been that useful in MD on, and is only marginally better than the current one. Baby flip is huge, esp now that we dont have good snipers, or crobat G in particular. Uxie is one of the best cards ever printed ( yes, better than Cleffa by a ton ) but I didn't really want to name any of the newest cards. Claydol, and Uxie are both really good. Swoop! Teleporter and Rocket's Admin deserve mention too.

I only skimmed the thread, but I don't think anyone's said Power Spray. That card is just too good lol.

We'll never see something like it again, or at least I hope. No more cards that you can activate during the opponent's turn, other than powers and bodies haha.

have we all forgotten item finder?

I did, because I thougt Junk Arm was a reprint of Item Finder. It's most certainly not. I mean, at first I thought Junk Arm picked up ALL Trainers like Item Finder, but I forgot that the TCG has split up Trainers, Supporters and Stadiums, meaning Junk Arm can't pickup Supporters. (As a side note, I'm SO happy that Nintendo brought the three back under the "Trainer Card" umbrella in BW).

Anyways, TL;DR, I'm putting Item Finder back in the running. But will it be one of the eternal Power Nine? We'll see...

All this looks well and good, however...
What more exactly does Gardevoir SW have to do to justify its inclusion on a top 9 list of any cards period, much less a list of top 9 cards that will never be printed again? Does Gardevoir need to break another format? Yeah, there's Grumpig, but Gardevoir was never so much about the awesome attack as it was the awesome attack, combined with the equally awesome Power.

Throw together an Unlimited deck that uses Gardevoir SW that wins every single time, maybe even in the first two or three turns, and we'll consider it. Otherwise...

...Excuse me?

1. I see it specified nowhere that the card had to be good in Unlimited. The only restriction I see is that it has to be unlikely to be reprinted, and I doubt we'll see Gardevoir's Power and attack printed on the same card ever again.

2. Just a cursory glance through the thread, I see the following cards:
Gyarados SF
Slowking NG
Garchomp C Lv. X
Pidgeot FRLG
Cleffa NG
Machamp SF

And so forth. No doubt that these are all great cards. But none of them are really part of 'an Unlimited deck that wins every single time.'

Slowking NG was kinda disqualified cuz it never should have happened in the first place.

It is absolutely Power Nine. It dominates every format that it could potentially be played in. But it was also a misprint that never got the errata it needed.

But it was, and will never be reprinted. I don't care that it was a misprint, it got printed, and didn't get errata'd. And since sneasel Neo got reprinted in UD, Slowking NG is the only card that is banned in the game. Even though P!P doesn't support unlimited tournaments, and for good reason, Slowking would still be banned. That is why it is one of the power nine.

I still stand by my statement that Uxie should be in the power nine, because it was a card that was played in every single deck in standard. Not even Claydol can say that.

I don't feel Cleffa should be up there because it got reprinted in HGSS and CoL. You can make the argument that GOW pretty much got reprinted as Catcher, but a lot of people will support my statement when I say that reprinting that broken card was a mistake.

Although Gardevoir dominated the format in 08, and still made appearences in the formats that followed, it still can't be compared to cards like Uxie, GOW, Comp Search, Oak (trainer), energy removal, super energy removal, lass, scoop up, and Slowking NG.

After reading over this thread once more, my vote for the power nine is

Gust of Wind
Energy Removal
Super Energy Removal
Scoop Up
Lass
Slowking NG
Comp Search
Uxie LA
Prof Oak (trainer)

.

Cleffa NG was never reprinted and likely never will be. The HGSS and CoL versions are similiar to NG Cleffa, but it's not an exact reprint.

Part of what makes Cleffa so amazing is the baby rule, which was really weakened for the new versions. Being able to put up a baby and let your opponent only attack 50% of the time was broken enough that we'll never see the real baby rule again. As it stands, Gengar's Shadow Room, Machamp's Take Out, and Gengar Cursed drop (among any other placing damage counters attack) can always hit the new babies without having to flip, unlike the old ones. Plus the old babies made you flip to attack even if you weren't affecting them in any way. Imagine any punch & run type deck if these old babies were still legal.

Any Cleffa (or other baby) printed without the exact baby ruile will not be the same as the old babies, and for good reason, I don't expect to ever see that baby rule again.
