Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokémon USA And Burger King Corp. Partner For Global Promotion In 2008

Check the 2nd image at the bottom, a bit fuzzy, but the text is readable and I'd suspect the cards match the accessory Pokemon.

So, if this pic is real...
4 deck boxes (Darkrai, Manaphy, Dialga, and Palkia)
2 plush card frames (Pikachu and Mantyke)
6 figure card displays (Chimchar, Pikachu, Happini, Piplup, Pacherisu, and Turtwig)

and the cards would be Chimchar, Pikachu, Happini, Piplup, Pacherisu, Turtwig, another Pikachu, Mantyke, Darkrai, Manaphy, Dialga, and Palkia

BTW, there is an image of a Manaphy card in the Mantyke holder, and what looks like an Aipom (purple head with yellowish face) in the Pikachu Plush holder.

That auction is up, but there's 2 others selling whole sets. You just have to look aorund.

Re: Glossy Finish

Got a pika yesterday. It seems to have a glossy finish on the card compared to the regular cards. Anyone notice a difference?

I think the glossy finish is what is known as "Reverse Holographic" Foil, where the non-picture background of the card is finished in "Holographic" foil that changes color depending on the angle to the light. I believe all of the Burger King cards will have that finish.

This finish is different from the finish of the foil or holographic backgrounds of special cards found in theme decks or booster packs that have the foil background behind the picture; you generally find 1 of these per booster pack or theme deck; or the full foil background on the feature card of the collector tin sets. (Note: while researching this for you I found that sets before EX did feature reverse holo!) If you collect the cards solely to play the game, there is no extra benefit within the game regardless if the card is foil or holographic or not. However, most collectors consider them special since they are a premium card, so if you collect and trade them, you can get a few cents (or dollars in certain instances) more in value, so don't just trade them as a common card. As far as the trade value for these cards, (I believe they are all reprints of fairly recent cards, but with Reverse Holo), I would think that initially (this week) they would fetch more than the respective originals, but as collectors complete their sets, demand will wane for awhile as many cards would be in circulation. But within a year or so, they then become collectors items as they will NEVER (in theory) be printed again. There are others who can probably give you trading/collecting tips, as I too am a confused Pokedad that has learned most of what I know from these pages, and other Pokemon sites. BTW, at the top of these pages is a link to the Pokegym Price Guide (the pic of Meowth holding cards) that can give you appropriate trading values, but I'm sure these new cards haven't been added to the list yet.

I have gotten 3 different toys (several of each) and a bunch of the cards so far. I am pretty impressed with the quality of both so far.

The 'deck' box strikes me more of a dice / damage counter box, but that is fine too.

My PTO and I are planning to use the Card Holders as table number holders. Now to figure out how to make them not wonder away during events.

Good job PUI/BKI!

OMG ....Great Idea Wayne!!! Table number holders!! I have a huge bag of them!
(stealing your idea) :)

Thanks!!

I wanna see someone steal from the event - that is an auto DQ and Ban.

Luckily for us, our players are helping gather these for us, so I don't see them stealing from themselves to get these.

That (table number holders) is a great idea! And we too are using our 'deck box' to hold our dice instead since sleeved cards do not fit.

We've gotten a pretty good selection so far. We've got some friends and family helping out too! Although we've been over run with Manaphy boxes and Piplup holders. All the rest we are pretty much 1 of a kind. We've gotten a few multiple cards and still some missing, but we'll keep trying.
