Hmm... I'm thinking this won't last 5 hours. So I'll be able to participate in the Midnight Draft to.

That onty depends on if nationals will end on time or get screwed up again. Who knows what will happen this year
Thank you for your confidence.

I Broken Lizard brought my brother and I packs of some old school Neo Destiny. We're bringing 12 packs of Neo Destiny just so we can have ablast with this tourney!

Congrats to Ron13 and to the dude he played that doesn't have a gym name yet but will be getting one soon. XD You both played well. XD BTW I beat Chrisbo in the first round. With my Team Magma's Numel that evolved into Marcargo and I smoothed over the whole game. XD But my friend Shukuen Shinobi beat PokePop so what happend to Team Compendium sweeping. =p

Props to Ron13 for winning (even after "technical" difficulties.). Props to the other guy too, he was a good player, and now has a reasaon to post on the gym. XD

I had a great time at the event, it was easily one of the best ones I played in the entire convention. XD

With 8 Basics and 9 Trainers (!!!) I drew only 1 Basic (Emerald Nosepass). My sole Dual Ball crapped out on me with 2 tails (funnily enough, Chrisbo's Dual Ball did the exact same thing to him!) and I proceeded to draw 5 Energy cards between turn draws and Collects before I was Knocked Out and Game Over.
I didn't even get to evolve my Nosepass. :p

That was a great event =D I had a Caterpie evolve to a Fossil Muk just to mess up Powers =P even though I lost first round, it was fun.

My son Joey was the lone 11 year old who came in 3rd....we all had a ton of fun playing! Congrats!!
A medicham ex got me in the first round....cant wait till the next one! count me in!

I guess it's about time I stopped being just a looky loo-er, and Co-winning the PokeGym Night Fever event seems reason enough to officially join the forums. That was my first ever mutant draft and thanks to a boat load of trainers and Altaria EX, I made it to the finals.

Along the way, I had a great time playing all of you - I owe a lot of thanks to Chrisbo and the other Pokegym staff for the surprise Pokegym polo prize, which I'm glad I could share with Ron13. I prolly owe more thanks to the player (whose name I misplaced), who later reminded the Pokegym staff that Altaria Ex's Dragon Mist attack does get thru Agility (which Ron owned me on 3 flips in a row, before i finally retreated) - but at 2am and the judges being on a 19 hr shift - it was all good. This type of booster draft rocks - use up those old useless Wizards packs - and soon even those RS, SS, Dragon packs (I saw some in the Exhiibit Hall for less than $2 a pack.)

It wasn't that we didn't realize the attack went through as much as it was that we didn't realize that you had asked about it! That's why we went with the tie for 1st, because there was a clear miscommunication (there's an oxymoron!) between player and judge(s).
Anyway, I'm glad that we had two shirts that we could come up with a happy solution rather than have people leave with a bad taste in their mouth from a very fun event.

Great choice of name! Very appropriate.

That would be me. I have a friend who ran Alteria EX in his crazy EX deck to get through Safeguard Wobuffet, so I knew the bonus of Dragon Mist. I didn't say anything during the game because I actually didn't hear you ask if Dragon Mist would go through Agility, and the last time I spoke up during an official game in progress, I got yelled at by the judge. Still, it all turned out good in the end for everyone but me! (Out in the first round with a non-existant start, it wasn't much of a deck anyway.) Enjoy your shirt! :thumb:

So does anyone want to explain what the draft was? I'm intrigued with Mutant drafts.

This is the short version of the format:

Evolutions not only follow the normal lines listed on the card, but they also follow colors. That means you could have a Vulpix => Charmeleon => Blaziken line or a Ralts => Sabrina's Kadabra => Gengar line. Trainers work normally and energy is required as usual. The fact that Pokemon evolve by color makes it easy to use any set combination in the format. Very creative and somewhat shocking to watch a Rayquaza ex evolve into a Blissey.
