This set s gonna be one hell of a party! Just wish Nintendo won't overdo it (Like WoTC era) or underdo it.(E-Set)
I hated WoTC for that sort of stuff......

WOTC had no say in the card text.

Yeah I've been playing Dark Slowking for a long time now, and I definately see the great improvement it will get once Cursed Powder comes out, definately will be an even better contender. (although space seems to be already limited, so many great tools =p) Just want your opinion on something since you're a fellow Dark Slowking player =] but do you think the new Slowking will actually prove useful in the deck? I mean the power is good and the attack is nice, but it has some downfalls that I am not sure are worth it. First of all it needs a Slowpoke, so that limits the Dark Slowking swarm a bit, unless you use retriever for it but by then the power is still useful but not as great. Second, a great thing about Dark Slowking is that it gets out fast because of Rocket's Poke-ball. (I play 2 celio's and 3 rocket's poke-ball in mine I think, lol) We'd need to up the celio's more to get Slowking out quicker, but would that have an effect on the deck? I really don't know right now that's why I ask. Lastly, is this Slowking really that great of a backup? It has a maximum damage potential of 80, still weak to grass, and is still psychic. I think I'd prefer a different Pokemon as back-up just in case of weakness/resistance. I dunno, I'm like spacing out right now so if this post doesn't make sense, sorry.

Hi Peachyoto,

Slowking needs much less space than other lines and he starts to work at a time Dark Slowking would fall back since he littered most of the tools into the discard allready. Since one runs four Teleporter and four Retrievers in evil knievel decks anyway the increased amount of Slowkings does not matter much. Have a total of six Slowking and the need to retrieve will be minimal. Ditto would be an option too here in case you like that more. With regard to the draw engine remember that you can now run a total of tweleve draw trainers other than Rocket's Pokéball due to the intoduction of Mary's request which assists the deck a lot. Inbetween the deck thinning of Rocket's Pokéball and the classic draw arsenal Slowking will be out in time. Remember that there is still Crystal Shard to over resistance issues and weakness does not matter that much in this evil knievel swarm since most lines would be able to knock out Slowking in one hit when entirely fueled.

lol, yeah I am thinking more clearly now. (after a short nap =p) I totally forgot about Shard to help with resistance. I don't know what I was thinking earlier, the nwe Slowking will be awsome, gettig it out sooner is something I'll have to try and work on though. (most likely more celios) Mary's impulse definately helps a good deal, but with all the new tools coming out it will be hard to decide on which ones to use, especially when you can only attach one at a time. (cursed powder seems great for Slowking but then you cant attach anything else =/ no shard, charm, etc. probably won't be a huge problem though) Anyway though, I am getting ahead of myself, the set isn't even out yet.

I think the ATMs will stay. HL makes sense to not be rotated as the Pokémon content is complimented very well by Deoxys.

I instead think that HL will be out, and the format will be FRLG-on.
This should explain why they printed Life Herb in both HL and FRLG, and then, we'll have 5 sets in the upcoming Modified start (FRLG, DX, TRR, EM, and the new set). Isn't it enough to play?
Plus, this new set will bring really useful cards, and new archetypes will see the light, finally :)
The funniest thing is, during the Neo days, everyone used Cleffa... this new one is so much similar to the old one, but... who will use it, now that the baby rule is gone, and it has a retreat too? :p

Well, I think the "only one can be attached" clause doesn´t matter that much. I think, Cursed Powder and Crystal Shard/Strength Charm are normally needed in different matchups. If you´re for example playing against Blaze or Dark Heart, you know you can OHKO anything regardless, so you wouldn´t attach your Cursd Powder. It should only be attached, if opponent has Pkmn with >100 HP that aren´t Colorless weak. And in those cases you should rarely need Strength Charm.
As to the number of good tools, I think the only one that will hurt somehow for not being in is EXP.All. But even that isn´t that important. At the beginning of the game, it´s of course great, it´s as an extra energy attachment. But you aren´t guarantueed to get it then and later on it´s almost nothing, just Litter-stuff.
I don´t know yet if Slowking is that good to divide the lines 3-3 like Dark Umbreon suggested, but I´ll certainly try. And even if it´s not that good, I´ll for sure play one, just in case you are low on Tools and not able to KO anything.

Alot. That's the simple answer. With dunsparce gone, being able get 2 basics at max, I feel many will go after cleffa as their opening attack.

In current decks, sure. But in the future one, who knows. I see myself playing masterball in most of my decks, especially when rare candy leaves, and I can see people playing trainers to go get basics too.

This seems to be a good arguement for FR/LG-ON since, if you do set that to the modified format, there would be FIVE sets left in Modified, and FIVE pushed back to Unlimited or Fun Play or whatever it's called now... lol

R/S, SS, DRA, TA/TM, and HL --> Unlimited

FR/LG, TRR, DX, EMR, and '???' --> Modified

Just my two cents on the matter...

And, people people... Just play with Plusle AND Cleffa.... Does the card Swoop! come to mind? lol

Ok, perhaps i'm just stoopid, but i'm thinking a two/two or three/three line of each, with a few Swoop!'s to go Plusle turn one, then use Cleffa for drawing/stall turn two and on... lol Just my INSANE idea! :p

I don't think it'll work. IMO, with Rare Candy Wally and other speedy trainers lost, decks will go back to good old haymaker, or something similar to Magma, just not, as Magma's banned. The Mark Of Evolution cards all seem playable. I've already said Himtontop is my favorite, but 'lee's 30 to anything is nice, and Chan is a smaller Dark Hypno, and also boostable. Electabuzz is another good example. Resistant to anything with special energies + 75% chance of paralasis + extremely boostable attack = pwnage.

Nintendo only ever reprints trainers when they've been reprinted in Japan. All the trainer reprints in Deoxys were in the Half decks or main set, and the same with FrLg and Rocket. Neither the Emerald Tin, QCP, nor GSSS contain reprints of Rare Candy or Wally, so it's extremely unlikely they'll be in EX: Emerald or EX: GSSS

dOOd... Aipom is like a mini-Bill! lol

I can see myself throwing two or three in any deck just to drop on the bench, and use it's power! That is, of course, when you have the space for it... Other than that, it'd be TV Reporter bait! But, i'm just glad that everyone's favorite monkey with a hand on it's tail is finally back in the format... ANDIT'S A CAKE! XD...!!!lol

*doesn't get why you'd want to play a card to draw a card*

The only thing I see it working in is a damage swap deck.

.........

Uhh..... I was just getting to that! >.<

Ok, so it's not the BEST thing to use deck space on, but yeah, if we ever get some sort of damage movement then it would be like a staple... lol
