Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon Movie 10: Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai

I haven't seen it. Compare it to the rest of the Pokemon movie franchises. How does it compare to Lucario and the Mystery of Mew? PM2k? Mewtwo's Revenge?

Mewtwo's Revenge isn't a pokémon title :(
Are you thinking of Mewtwo Strikes Back or Mewtwo Returns (actually a special)
anyway it was one of the better pokémon movies. The Japanese version was clearly better like I said Together is a much better song :)

i was multitasking when it was on, but story-wise it reminded me of lugia bakutan, with darkrai in the lugia role and palkia/dialga as the battling legendary birds. there was even a 'music' theme which was going to stop the battle, as well.

i'll have to wait till the dvd comes out to give my real opinion; i've never been impressed with the movies when on CN because of the (god-awful: what is that 'chop socky chooks' monstrosity anyway? =/) commercial interruptions breaking my concentration on the story. i'm glad they left it letterboxed, instead of the pan-and-scan garbage...

The commercials were HORRIBLE. They really did detract from the movie. Seemed like they would play 8-10 in a row and I would have lost a lot of the flow of the story by that point.

This is one of only three that were really good. Those others were average at best. The story was actually really good and it flowed really nice without the commercials (thanks to my PS2) and the movie really didn't leave me asking any questions.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

What did you expect though.

At the very end when it show Darkrai on top of the tower right at the end, I started laughing because the song and the way they showed him, I kept thinking of batman on top of the building.

I can see how you would think that.
I think it would have been better if they only saw the shadow like that one scene in the garden where you see his shadow mixxed in with the tree's shadow.

I agree there was a part where the character died and lost it's mind in the commercials I am like they have that in a kids show? Also what was with the other card game based show they advertised that was pretty lame too. The Chicken one was weirder. I guess it was similar to Revelation Lugia because of Darkrai's role to stop the fighting. However I found most of the animation pretty nice. I still think the Japanese version is so much better. "The World of pokémon" opening/translation seemed overdone in the English version.

problem is though that it wasn't Darkrai's role to stop the fighting, he chose to do so. In Pokemon 2000 Lugia was forfilling a prophecy to stop the end of the world. This was some emo pokemon that gives people nightmares, that wanted to save the garden and city.

Althgough the lickylicky swap was really funny.

"It seems that the pokemon are all dreaming that they are being chased by something terrible!"
"Then what about me!?"
"I guess lickylicky was dreaming that it turned into you."
"GAH!"

on another unrelated note: Was that Gible they showed in the beginning and later on a shiny? It seemed greyish like the shiny, and not blue like normal.

meh. i just bought sarah brightman's 'symphony' cd today; 'i will be with you' isn't even _close_ to as good a song as 'kaze to isshoni' is, imho.

i'm
so glad they've started leaving the original scores in; the japanese scores were always superior to the american. the only theme that was better in the sub version was the one used when melody called lugia in 'pokemon 2000'; that one 'fit' better than the original, imho.

They've been using the original scores virtually unaltered since movie 4 (works out well for me ). I do have to agreee though that "I Will Be With You" isn't astoundingly great. It's not bad by any means, but there are better songs out there.

" I will be with you" is an awesome song I made 2 AMVs with it. "Kaze no Isshoni" is a better some because the music is more dramatic.

i have to say i'm disappointed by the music...songs AND score...in this one. did someone different/new do it? i've not looked up who the composer is...

compared to say the score for 'rukario...', this one is just :meh: the tower melody is pretty, but there is nothing in the score as moving as 'farewell rukario'; that piece had me teary before even seeing the movie itself.

'i will be with you' is just a generic euro power-pop duet. there's nothing really that musically interesting in it, compared to 'kaze...' or even 'sokoni soraga arukara', 'chiisaki mono', 'boku no best friend' or 'ashita tenki ni teokure'...

jmho.
