Ny is for New York (NY) and La is for Los Angeles (LA), two major cities with not the best air quality in the world. The bad air quality is what relates them to Koffing and Weezing.

Aha! There's a connection with the Omanyte line and Kabuto line. Ess-Kargo, Att-Lantis............................

.......yeah i'm a little late aren't I.

My beloved Kabutops was actually originally named Lantis?

I agree with the unoriginality, though. Stuff like Stryke (Scyther) just doesn't fit in with the names of Pokemon we're used to.

I personally have stickers with over two dozen of those names. They are absolutely not fake.

Care to link to an image of them? Can you gaurantee they are products from TPC or liscensed from TPC, and not someone rushing "Knockoffs"? Have I seen them personally? ;) If you wish to research and present your results, go ahead: I am rather curious to know (and make sure that person is never allowed to name a Pokemon again). XD

We just cleaned out our shed a week ago on Saturday, and I put a ton of old Pokemon stuff in a box and put it in the top of the shed towards the back. I really do not want to go in there and get them out. The stickers had the Pokemon logo on it, the Pokemon's picture, and it's name printed under it. Also, some of the stickers have the real Pokemon names, such as the starters and their evolutions. Just take my word for it. :)

no. ;) Seriously though, thats good evidence, but not conclusive. Probably should just e-mail Nintendo.

I've got a few posters with those name on them as well. I think it can be said they were the original names.
