But I wont be too surprised if it falls the way of the tfg.

That would require amazing stuff for that to happen, considering these are promos (that come with die and instructions for a game) for a Wii Ware game coming out this Monday, and not a new collectible game like the TFG was...

Might get it, might not, we'll see.

OMG This is the best thing Ive seen for Pokemon in a while. For all the people who don't like them, think about the amzing epicness of using on of those in a serious game.

I overall think its bad...Nintendo/Pokemon already has so much money, i think its more for kids from 4-8 or something, sort of like a preview for actual pokemon tcg. Sorta helps you get started i guess

So will this actually have a US release? Or is this just a rumor?

The box and cards is printed in English with a TPCI seal. Seems like a lot of trouble for a mock up that they wouldn't even try to market. And with a release date that near, you can guarantee they have already been printed, boxed up, and shipped to the distribution hubs.

Dungeon Dice Monsters?

that's what me and a few of my buds thought too!

^ I think it means we can use the cards from the Pokemon Rumble Box in our actual TCG decks, if any of them are even decent lol.

Is there any info on how to play this? Like has it been released in Japan already? I wanna know... this looks awesome :d

I don't have access to a scanner at this time, so hopefully someone else that runs a league and visits here can get the rules up. (or I could type them I guess).

League Owners should be getting one of these in so that the league leader can promote them. I got mine in for my league today (Dec 02, 2009) and it looks interesting.

As for TCG interaction - but the looks of it, yes you can use the cards in your TCG deck and you can use TCG cards for the purpose of Rumble play. The rules cover that, but there a few loops in it that I'd like to see addressed.

like what loops...

one of the rule, pertaining to adding regular TCG cards, mentions how attacks work. It basically stats you only do the base damage, ignoring effects and modifiers (so SV Garchomp's 2nd attack would simply do 120 for 3 energy, ignoring the minus modifier). Now, I know this will mean ignoring damage counter placement attacks, like SF Gengar/etc. But what about "sniping" attacks like AR Pikachu's Mega Shot - do you just classify it having a base damage of 40 atk and follow the rest of the Rumble rules determining attack target etc. Granted the basic Rumble rules also state that you can add your own rules, incase you'd like to add the effects that include coin flips.....

I don't think you ignore all effects. Look at the Rumble Gyarados. It has the effect of doing 20 damage to itself and is referenced in therules. It clearly does 20 damage to itself.

I think when it was talking about ignoring effects, it meant you would ignore anything that doesn't exist in Rumble, such as flips, paralysis, etc.

I personally plan on making house rules for most of this stuff.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Also, although this isn't proper usage of the league copy, Batmylashes and I were thinking about buying another copy and using the dice as Claydol, Uxie, etc. markers, since they have a Fighting and Psychic energy symbols and all.

another loop not fully answered, so I assume that "removing damage counter(s)" works too - I can't recall which one has it, but one of the cards has that effect under the attack.

I'm sure they'll give offical clarification in due time....if they want this game to work, lol.

The Venusaur heals itself based on the damage it does, with a 50 damage attack.

Will be trying this out at league tonight for sure now that I got mine.

I view this game as being more in the vein of Uno or Monopoly or even Mario Party rather than Magic or Street Fighter. It's a game where there are a set of core rules that must be followed, but you can do pretty much anything else around those core rules that you want. It's a game that will be played differently in each household, much less in each League, and it makes for an AMAZING Party-style or Snow Day game much like Uno or Monopoly.

For the most part, you follow the cores, then make up the rules as you go, as long as everybody around you agrees with them.

:thumb: An excellent way to put this.
