Eh, I guess Yanmega Prime is good enough, considering I've been borrowing Yanmega.
 
I can confirm this is an actual product because my local hobby shop owner mentioned this at League this past Saturday. He said it would cost $20.

I love this. It'll help the meta. Now the same people who run Reshirem because its cheap , can run Yanmega decks

For sure Yanmega will be played more, but I don't think that Reshiram will become less viable because of this.

As for the move in general, it is great, but should not be a complete and total surprise. Recently we have had the following (these are only the ones I remember):

League Promos
-Bebe's Search
-Black Belt

Promos
-Reshiram
-Zekrom
-Typhlosion
-Garchomp G Lv.X
-Dialga G Lv.X
-Zoroark
-Soon to be Emboar
-Uxie
-Azelf

I definitely seems like Pokemon is making the game more accessible to the masses through making meta cards cheaper promos.

Yes there are some lapses in the system and some cards still fetch a decent sum of money, but this is a good direction to be heading towards.

I will agree that we do not have it quite as sweet as in Japan, where they get EXs and Lv.Xs in sealed deck product, but things are heading in the correct direction.

Just checked ebay and the Yanmega Primes have been going for $15 ~ $20 each, so about the same price of getting the Prime Challenge Box set
 
Such a good decision by Pokemon! Hopefully this will pave the way for additional game-minded products.

It looks official and all but I can't find it on the Pokemon official website (which is what it looks like) and I haven't seen it anywhere else.

I'm torn over this. In some ways it is awesome that yanmega will be easy to obtain but I also don't like it when a game makes the top tier cards so accessible. It's why tyram is so insanely overused. If anything I think this confirms that this will be the last season for the hgss sets. Let everyone play with yanmega for a few months that remove him from standard play.

I think it's a good move. :thumb: Making them more accessible removes the very real cost barrier for more people to be able to participate at a higher level of competition.

And I really think it depends on your area meta, I've never faced a TyRam deck. It's mostly ZPST and Reshiphlosian where I am with some DonDragons thrown in for good measure.

However, if there is a HGSS rotation, that will leave us with only 5 sets to choose from (BW, EP, NV, PD/HB and Dark Rush). Maybe that'll be enough, maybe it won't. I think HGSS will make it one more season before it's rotated out personally since they just rotated everything before HGSS this past summer.

But that's just my own .02 and I could be totally wrong :redface:
