I'm going to answer both topics: Don't buy PS3, buy a 360 or a Wii. It's a lot smarter. If you're dad is so dead set on getting one, just tell him all of this stuff, and tell yourself as well. PS3 doesn't have that many redeeming qualities. Most of the good games you can get on it, you can also get for 360, the few PS3 exclusives aren't all that good, online play is really not all that good, plus the 360 has been around longer, so both the system and the games are going to be more defined.
This was our point. If you're interested in PS3 you're interested in a game system.
If PS3 is really the only one you're interested in at all, despite its shortcomings, go for it.
You should keep an open mind. PS3 has its pluses but it has a lot of problems, and its competition is beating it in almost every way.
That's what we're trying to get across here, lol.
If you're still dead set on a PS3 then buy one but make an educated informed decision rather than "360 and Wii suck, PLAYSTATION ONRY!" which is what comes across at the moment.
