I don't know what exactly is in Emerald at all, but I'm sure it will a bit. But look at EX: Deoxys... it didn't change the metagame one bit. We've still got all the same decks in tier 1 that we had the week after the EX: Team Rocket Returns prereleases. That set was so good... I really don't think anything could compare at this point.

POOKA!

im playing a poison/flying deck (yanma/beautifly/dark weezing)

anyways, probably gonna see a lot of rock lock and dragtrode, some blaze, some sally ex

I really think that Rock Lock will never die. Its so powerful... its AMAZING! lol.

Does anyone challenge me to play Prime Tool at Regionals (not that I'm going to, just wondering if anyone is actually willing to ask me to...).

Yeah. There really aren't ay other sets in the same league as Base Set and Team Rocket Returns.

We're down to about 4 weeks away now. Who is not ready for this? I know I won't be ready until that day being that it will be one of my first few 15+ performances.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to play. it's really weird coming back to Pokemon and feeling like I don't know whaT I'm doing. I've taken breaks before, but a 2 year break is hard to get over.

Regardless.

Other than going to a VERY occasional league (maybe 2-4 times a year), I didn't play from the time the first gym set came out until this past May. Took me a couple months to get a good amount of cards to work with and deckbuild with, but it wasn't too terribly hard to get back into.

Trying to convince my friend to use the Delcatty/Trode ex deck if cyclone and warp come out in emerald.

Thanks. I don't know how I'll do, but its nice to see that you have some faith in me.

Check me if Im wrong guys, but I think the cheapest "good" deck to play is probably the breloom/scramble and time machine comboed with something like magneton or togetic or both. Its a real cheap strategy, the cards arent hard to get and it can really take advantage of the weaknesses of some other decks. EX Battle Stadium has alot of cards you might want, dunsparce and celio+tv reporter among other things. The two good theme decks in my opinion are the wishmaker from HL with jirachi and the Charmeleon FR/LG deck.
