Regionals in Madison, WI 5/14/05

Ugh. Why can't the start time be 1 PM. Its gonna be hard to get to, but I'll make it. Jas was thinking about coming with us, but it starts an hour too early for her to come because of soccer. I'll try and make some arrangements, but we'll see.

However, one way or another, I'll be there. I'm not sure if my parents are driving yet or if I'm gonna need to ask someone else for a ride. It is under an hour from here to Madison, though, so I hope my mom will just drive so at least Josh can come with us.
 
Start cannot be 1 PM because...

This will be at the VERY LEAST an 8 hour event!

If we start at 10, we have a prayer of being done by 7, so my sons and I can get back to the hotel and swim (I know that is what the PTOs were worried about)

Note, my events for regionals start at 10 am as well! That is the BEST time to do a non-Sunday event, and those who try to cram these on a Sunday, are, well, kidding themselves.

I commend the staff for this decision, and offer them a hearty POOOKA for their wisdom!

10am doors opening is fine for me and most of my TIY'rs, since we're only an hour or 1 1/2 hours away. I still can't get over how lucky we got having it so close! Now if we can get beautiful weather, then we'll really be in business! Will be fun!
 
I'll be there. I decided to decline the offer to judge so I can play for once. This will be my 3rd MF tourney as a player in two years!

I'm working on deciding what deck to play and a list for that deck. :cool:

I know the excitement of playing...this will only be my fifth event of the year I think....

Sedalia Cities, Collinsville Cities, Crystal Lake Cities, Mississippi States...and now to Wisconsin...

Now to see how well I can compete with you in the same division. Then again, it'll prolly be the same as before. I'll still do just as well as long as I elevate my level of play and competitiveness. Not that those two things are hard for me to do or anything. :wink:
 
4 hours!? You going to be going 30-35mph all the way there? My brother lives around Madison and it takes at most 2.5 hours for me to get there from my place which is like 10-15min from your place.

EDIT--I forgot, us Wisconsin players have to ride cows to all the events we go to. Maybe 4 hours is a low estimate then.... :tongue:

I agree with mekonow, 4 hours is a long time, unless you're using a cow. I know I could use my bicycle and make that trip between those two places in less then 4 hours.

Word on the street has it that there's a new "Regional" themed fake card for each of the 4 Regionals that I am planning on attending...

Even if I rode a cow, I'll get there 3 times faster than Jordan or Jeff. I'm the cow masta'. Oooh. :tongue:

Anyways, I'll be glad to get your fake, Jason. I might have one too if I can get my lazy butt making one. lol :cool:
 
Yea i dont think they could have picked a worse day for this tourny. Same day as my Prom. God im such a geek. 'Cause ill still be seein you all there.

Haha, if he had a date just THINK of the excuse he had to come up with when he found out about the tournament. "Sorry, I can't go to the prom with you... I'm going to a Pokemon tournament instead. Hope you understand."
